Would Nintendo support indies? Would they lean into digital? Would they be able to claw back third parties? Could Nintendo even be relevant again? Seems mad to look back on now

I played so much of both, great games by their own merits, but also early examples of HD Rumble done well by small studios. I really miss those early Switch days where it wasn’t clear it would be a runaway success. So much weirdness!

Also, remember Tumbleseed and Graceful Explosion Machine! Two indie that got huge exposure being near the Switch launch

Big Arms vibes from this, as in, a ton of cool uniquely designed characters with unique abilities but no story to actually give them a personality

It is a tiny audience but like you say, not even sold at retail, so it’s a highly enthusiast audience. Thank about Metroid Dread selling 3 million units on Switch. I’m not saying they’ll put Ninty out of business! But you want that 5-6+ purchases a month group buying on Switch, not Steam

Even if we assume all Steam Deck users buy Switch 2 to play the next big Nintendo game, will they buy indies/third parties on Switch 2 as well? Or has that market moved to Steam Deck?

Would appreciate any retweeting and boosting to this ☺️

Anni this looks SO good! I'd take an entire game of Rextro puzzle platforming, get the Playtonic team on that aye?

Just need RSE and FRLG and then every mainline game will be compatible with home

Lunistice is about £3 at the moment, about 2-3 hours long and feels like a lost Sonic game for the Saturn, been playing it this week and had a great time with it youtu.be/O6lfF03o6vk?...

Have you been making something yourself? 👀

I have not! Been eyeing up Godot for a while but not heard of Pico8, might be worth a try

I’m the same, planned to get through so many games while I was out of work in Dec, but the stress of life meant I fell back on old reliables like FIFA instead. It always comes back around though, and sometimes you’ve just got to let your brain switch off

I loved 2013 at the time but it’s harder to go back to after Rise. I need to go back to Shadow though, give it another shot

Rise of the Tomb Raider is a banger, I wish the other two were as good
