That most cartoonists who are published professionally are the working-poor and either have second/third jobs, a $ supportive spouse/parents and are still often expected to hit a deadline for thousands of finished illustrations. Then they expect you to do most of the books promotion for no $ :/

i've been trying to see what the right wing platforms (even outside of X) are showing people regarding the protests in LA and i am not sure it can be overstated just how much the AI slop is being used to reinforce the idea that downtown is a post-apocalyptic war zone

I have no desire to consume art made by AI. Especially writing. Listening to stories is inherently and crucially human. They teach us about the human experience. When you take the human out of that, you just have empty words. When you let AI write the story, there is no human experience.
