Nothing but respect for *my* precedent. 😀

App idea. Neat, native travel agent. Let me book tickets without weird tracking and dark patterns.

iPhone 16E is my cup of tea. Smaller cameras please.

While I'm naming things, "Tanagra" would be a good app name. #StarTrek

If you're starting a band in #Adelaide, you should call yourselves "Royal Park Salvage". Great band name.

I saw Paddington in Peru last night, and

No rain for months. Second heatwave of the year. Hottest day since 2019. Some genius: "Ahh, an opportunity to get some angle grinding done."

Who the hell is Saint Vincent anyway. #Adelaide

I looked a lion in the eye. #photography

I played a show today.

Installing government cameras in every household worldwide would be less invasive than what’s being proposed here. www.theverge.com/news/608145/...

The video on this page is super neat. Lamp friend.

The original goatse photo surfaced in newsgroups closer to the first moon landing than today.

Some dancing robots from China’s new year gala a couple of nights ago. 16 dancing in unison, no visible mistakes, recorded live. Impressive stuff. #robotics #china #tech www.youtube.com/watch?v=BiCB...

Did anyone make a compelling Bluesky client for iOS? Is it possible to get a chronological timeline here?

Daft Punk's "Homework" turns twenty eight years old today.

Today is the 38th anniversary of Bruce Willis' solo album: The Return of Bruno. https://music.apple.com/au/album/the-return-of-bruno/1444378334 Bruce is on vocals and harmonica, and has a writing credit on track 7 only. Alas, no writing credit on "Respect Yourself".

For #Adelaide people: Beijing's central outdoor shopping mall has a single Mall Ball. Half as good as Adelaide's.

@nanoraptor.danamania.com spotted in Adelaide: convertible Lancer. Almost a Ute.

It is a long lost tweet that i made in 2020. It went something like: "I think the film CATS (2019) might have been the high watermark of humanity. It's all downhill from that point." This is still holding true.

I find the value prop of an "iPhone Air" quite compelling. https://www.macrumors.com/roundup/iphone-17/#iphone_17_air I never really wanted a massive camera on a phone, and it adds an enormous cost. Hopefully they don't nerf it's specs to bolster Pro sales. 120Hz display, pls.

Can someone please make a HR tool with a brutilitarian UI? The preppy insincere bullshit is so last era.

I had a threads account and barely used it. I deleted it all the same. I don't see a future for posting my daily thoughts on a meta platform. In saying that, i signed up to instagram so i could share photos with a wider audience, so i guess i'm ethically compromised.

After I returned from travelling, I erased my phone and started again from a clean install. There are so. many. tips. and. prompts. to dismiss. Even now, a week or so later, the App Store asks to enable notifications. Notes is excited to tell me what's new. Calendar informs me that I can share.

I've tried to stay optimistic and flexible, but Photos needs its tab bar back. Sometimes if you look past a change, you can see an unrealised design intent that was lost during implementation. Not here. Something fundamental is missing.

Utterly thrilled that Ansel Adams is active on Instagram. I can only imagine his digital conversion process for those plates.

1933 Old Millfun. The poured-concrete structures once housed the largest slaughterhouse in Shanghai at the time. "an eerie Gotham-Deco achievement in concrete, glass, and steel, and the last remaining of its design in the world."

Easily the most cyberpunk building in Shanghai.

I went to the building in Shanghai where the first National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party was held.

The Pearl Tower in Shanghai is huge. It doesn't look it from a distance.

Shangas after 10pm is very similar to Adelaide. #photography #shanghai

Hong Kong was good.

I was lucky enough to see this building switching into night mode. #photography

The Cyberport is a real place and you can catch a bus there. #photography

Here are some more shots I've been taking recently. #photography

I mostly stopped using streaming services so I don't get to link to the analytics they collected on me this year. πŸ₯²

iPhone 13 mini is awesome. The best phone form factor. I miss it, and wish there is an iPhone 17 Pro Mini next year.

Storms are cool.

There are no naturally occurring foods that are blue. Right?
