We are devastated to learn of the passing of Michelle Trachtenberg. She was such a talent with a unique look and the ability to make even the most bristly characters fan favorites. 39 is way, way too young. May she rest in peace.

For my latest on Movie Marker, I dove into whether the Oscar shut-out of films like QUEER and ALL OF US STRANGERS speaks to an issue the industry has with on-screen gay sex. An article I've been admittedly nervous about sharing to the world, but put plenty of time into. Take a look!!

Age yourself with a movie you saw in theaters

Last night's blind spot watch: TAKE OUT (2004) co-directed by Shih-Ching Tsou and Sean Baker Probably my favorite Sean Baker film I've seen thus far. What seems like a simple story about a Chinese delivery man on his shift is an anxiety attack about immigration and the neglect of service workers.

Just a reminder that I’m raising money for charity again for this year’s Great North Run half-marathon. Haven’t yet decided on what ridiculous challenge I’ll take on, so give me your best/worst ideas! Please donate and share if you can: www.justgiving.com/page/gavin-s...

THE MONKEY is an almost brilliantly demented, brutally gory take on generational family trauma guided by a strong dual Theo James performance. Still processing whether the comedy is entirely at the level of the horror, but I enjoyed it!!

Hunter Schafer is great and you should all watch Cuckoo

The time has come to share my favorite films, soundtracks and performances of 2024. This was an eclectic, exciting year for personal moviewatching and I look forward for what’s ahead in 2025. #Movies #FilmSky sonic-cinema.com/wordpress/20...

Since Angela Bassett is re-discussing her disappointed reaction when she lost the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress, I'm honestly not upset by her reaction. More so the fact that people are on her case about it but nothing on Diane Warren's constant sore loser reactions.

Good Morning, Taylor

Since the SAG Awards are this weekend, how my ballot would look in the individual acting categories if I were a voter...

Post a female character that you love.

Seeing this image of Wagner Moura is today's greatest gift. Or, rather, Wagner Mmmmmmmmmm-moura.

Happy Sunday folks. ICYMI: here’s my review of #CaptainAmericaBraveNewWorld for @moviemarker.bsky.social. moviemarker.co.uk/captain-america-brave-new-world

She's fine. Does a great enough job pulling of playing Lucille Ball and her on-screen comical persona. But still pales in comparison to her best work (BABYGIRL, BIRTH, TO DIE FOR, DOGVILLE...)

"...films like “Nickel Boys” aren’t looking at the past, the present or even the future for liberation. They are looking to disrupt forms and norms, telling their own stories in their own time and at their own speed." Finally watched this stunning film. #booksky #filmsky

The theme is an all-timer Best Picture winner followed by a Valentine's Day triple-header. #LastFourWatched

I know Demi Moore or maybe Mikey Madison are more likely to win the BAFTA Award for Lead Actress and they're both deserving but I really want Marianne Jean-Baptiste to win tomorrow for HARD TRUTHS. Not only because she's the best in her field but also because it'd be a historic win.
