Y’all, I love making my books and zines about video games. Here is a starter pack FILLED with other great people who also have been writing their own amazing books about video games! Check it out, give any and all a follow. Support these great authors. go.bsky.app/Py2qArP

I don't think anyone is demanding that every person needs stacks of film, VHS, DVDs and Blurays but the fact is, owning physical media is the only way to guarantee access to what you wish to see in the future. We are seeing streaming getting yanked on a whim and it's only going to get worse.

Professor who teaches African American studies here. If your school eliminates or bans it, I will personally host free zoom sessions, provide resources, or answer questions for students, parents/guardians, or teachers who are interested in learning or discussing African American studies.

If you want some fine reading material for #StarTrekCruise (2/23-3/2/25), may I recommend my book Star Trek Video Games? Available for $11.90 in hardcover (70% off), it covers 42 Star Trek games from decades of gaming history. t.co/9ysg2GZhk8

The big takeaway here is that Reuters won this case against the AI company on grounds they violated fair use—the judge found the AI company was guilty because, in using copyrighted works to generate its output, it “meant to compete... by developing a market substitute.” Huge.

Anyone else going on #StarTrekCruiseVIII?

This brings me back! One of the first reviews I did as a critic was for CROCODILE DUNDEE IN LA and I got to interview Paul Hogan too! I was 19 at the time. — Crocodile Dundee | New ‘Encore Cut’ removes footage from original film filmstories.co.uk/news/crocodi...

A recent episode of Kitchen Nightmares has one of my favorite British expressions: “You’re not fucking having a jolly, are you?”

I guess I’m Tom Green’s doppelgänger

The sun is peeking through the frigid sky. Will be glad to vacation to Miami and Mexico soon

If any of my mutuals here creating retro gaming books have had to talk to an IP lawyer, would you happen to have any recommendations? I am trying to find out what I can and cannot do and need support. Thanks y'all!

A photo that appears in an article in the July 1994 issue of Wired magazine. Looks familiar. 🤔

Some Lynchs films inspired Silent Hill 2. When we were building the outline of the story, there was an idea that 2 or 3 guys were the main protagonists like Lost Highway's story. Also, as you know, Blue Velvet inspired the cut scene "Pyramid Head abusing 2 Mannequins". David Lynch R.I.P 🙏

Hey, yes sure! I used this tutorial and SkyFeed. It looks a little intimidating at first, but it's actually really easy to do. bsky.app/profile/spir...

NHK has located and interviewed the elusive Nasir Gebelli, the genius Iranian-American programmer of Final Fantasy I to III. Gebelli dropped out of the public eye for many years, and even Sakaguchi went to Twitter in 2012 to ask if anyone knew his contact information. www.famitsu.com/article/2024...

Watched a bit of Beast Games on Amazon Prime and found it to be more cruel than his YouTube series. The camera relishes on contestants breaking down in tears.

Back from Atlanta to Portland with a sore throat. Time to drink lots of hot water and lemon!

One of the coolest things about publishing a book in Norway is that the gov will automatically buy 1k copies, 1.5K if its a children's book, these will then be distributed to all the libraries.

It’s been nice catching up with high school chums.
