Chuck's Devils uses vector graphics, so I haven’t drawn much by hand. However, at some point I found time to sketch a tiny self-portrait. I rediscovered the drawing and had an idea to reverse the colors by making a negative image. The result is a good representation of how I feel most of the time.

And now, to complete the Valentine's Day trilogy, here's a new comic! Chuck's Mini-Devils: Chivalrous Cupid Tyler doesn't have the heart to shoot Candace with a love arrow, but still finds a way to get kisses from his girlfriend.

Then, Rose played Cupid and created new couple combinations. But since the Mini-Devils already loved each other, just in different ways, there wasn't much of a difference. The same can't be said when Rose got a dose of her own medicine.

There have been three Valentine's Day episodes of Chuck's Mini-Devils, with different characters dressing up as Cupid in each one. First, Candace tried to rekindle the romance after Lily and Yu-Ri had an argument, but found out that love can be an unpredictable emotion.

One more football adjacent comic before The Big Game™. This time, Tyler joins the Mini-Devils and plays their own unique version of the sport. Enjoy the commercials!

I've heard that a big football game will take place tomorrow. Chuck's Mini-Devils have also played with a pigskin before. Watch Candace, Yu-Ri, and Lily engage in sports hijinx in this series of comics.

New comic! Chuck's Mini-Devils: Groundhog Daze Lily finds herself reliving the same events over and over again.

New comic! Chuck's Mini-Devils: Candy the Snowwoman Do you wanna build a snowman? The cold never bothered the Mini-Devils.

Happy Meh Year.

New comic! Chuck's Mini-Devils: Christmas Carols Tyler Claus has presents for all the good boys and -- well, just girls.

A friend of mine wrote a poem years ago offering a twisted take on "The Night Before Christmas", and asked me to illustrate it. Here it is in comic form, which I'm certain will NOT become an annual holiday tradition.

If you're a fan of room escape games, here's one you'll want to play. Neutral, a Japanese indie game developer, has just released Level. Like their previous games, it's much bigger than it first appears. It took me a couple of hours to solve all the puzzles. neutralxe.net/room/level/

Fans of The Price is Right can spin the big wheel without flying to Los Angeles. Flash games like this were in danger of becoming unplayable when support was dropped, but Ruffle's Flash Player emulator allows you to play within your browser. mazeguy.net/bigwheel.html

For a school project, I had to write a report on an artist and create a piece in their style. I chose Claes Oldenburg, who is best known for making large sculptures of ordinary objects. I constructed this five foot long pencil out of paper as an example of his work.

I made this acrylic painting for my sister when her kids were young. A small clothing tag with Mickey Mouse and Pluto on it was scaled up for a larger canvas.

This may be my favorite photo that I've ever taken. I was in the right place at the right time to capture this squirrel outside my window.

New comic! Chuck's Mini-Devils: Turn the Other Cheek The cheeky Mini-Devils receive tender loving care.

I made a compilation of our domino toppling highlights from 1990 to 2012. My brother and I have pretty much retired from the road and moved on to other interests. It's time to hand things over to these new whiz kids, who still have healthy backs, knees, and butts. youtu.be/gZ3XhuvtE-E?...

Our homemade dominoes came in handy when we received requests for displays from across the northeast. Our most popular shows were at the Brattleboro Museum and Art Center in Vermont, which we did five times. The event still takes place each year thanks to a new generation of domino topplers.

In case we ever got another domino toppling gig, my brother and I wanted something better than the toys we grew up with. Back then, the ones used for professional events like Domino Day were expensive and/or hard to get. So we resorted to making thousands of our own dominoes with wood and paint.

In 2005, I was contacted by a producer of "Penn & Teller: BS!" They wanted someone to spell out the title of their show with dominoes, so they flew my brother and I to a sound stage in Las Vegas. We spent the night setting up dominoes, and had our picture taken with the magicians afterward.

Domino toppling involves standing dominoes on end to create a chain reaction with additional objects and tricks. It's an activity my brother and I practiced in our parents' basement in the '90s. But something unexpected happened in 2005 that took our simple hobby to another level.

Sometimes, experience with one hobby can help with another. My interests in pixel art and comics combined to create this Street Fighter inspired scene for Episode 7 of Chuck's Devils.

In 2005, my brother and his friends were making a short film about a man obsessed with beating a brutally unfair video game. I joined to animate all of the "death scenes". I tried to obey the palette and graphical limitations of the NES, but cheated every now and then. youtu.be/aVwoU8Sqh9k?...

More pixel art, this time from a pair of games I made in the '90s. Invasion of the Blobs and its sequel were created with the help of Game-Maker, a well-named DOS program. You can learn more and play these games at The Game-Maker Archive: www.aderack.com/game-maker/

This digital drawing of Bowser from Super Mario Bros. 3 is my oldest surviving piece of pixel art. It was made some time between 1990-1992 with Dazzle Draw for the Apple IIe. I was about 13-years-old at the time, and the picture appeared in my junior high school's newspaper.

Here's a couple of my favorite smiley categories: foods and animals. Others include flags, symbols, celebrities, musical instruments, and fantasy creatures. I've also made pixel art versions of characters from movies, TV shows, cartoons, comics, and video games.

Since 2001, I've made over two thousand pixel art smilies and icons. They're mostly obsolete these days, having been replaced by emoji. But my smilies are still available for anyone to use with their emails, blogs, and forums. Plus, I think they're just plain fun to look at and browse through.

New comic! Chuck's Mini-Devils: Buns in the Oven The Mini-Devils overindulge on their Thanksgiving dinner.

After making 48 minisodes, I realized I never explained how the Mini-Devils met. So I wrote an origin story for them that is much different from their tall twins. I'll post a new comic tomorrow for Thanksgiving!

Chuck's Devils and the Mini-Devils once meet each other. A magical Easter egg transported them between alternate universes. They'll do it one more time in April 2025 to wrap up both series for good.

The freedom my comics have given me to express myself has been invaluable. To quote Bob Ross: “In painting, you have unlimited power. You have the ability to move mountains. You can bend rivers. But when I get home, the only thing I have power over is the garbage.”

Chuck's Devils was structured around Yu-Ri and Lily's evolving love story, and the other couple didn't get as much attention. The Mini-Devils have allowed me to show more of Candace and Tyler's relationship. Even though they’re not the originals, I like to think they’re both equally a-dork-able.

Rose was a devious rival thief in Chuck's Devils. For the Mini-Devils, she was toned down and acts as a mild antagonist. No one gets hurt, and Rose usually gets her comeuppance by the end of the comic.

The first episode of Chuck's Mini-Devils debuted on Christmas Day, 2022. This series removed the dramatic elements from the main comic, and allowed the characters to be cute and silly. I think this page sets the tone perfectly.

Chuck's Devils may have ended, but its spin-off is still going. Chuck's Mini-Devils features cute, chibi versions of Candace, Yu-Ri, and Lily in bite-sized comics. I'll post a few of my favorites leading up to a new episode on Thanksgiving.

After six years, I finally finished a comic called Chuck's Devils, about three aspiring models who become thieves. Throughout the series, the misfit minions stumble through their new life of crime, as well as life with each other. You can read all 432 pages at www.chucksdevils.com
