Spending three years off & on, mostly on the last year, cleaning and decluttering your parent's house really changes you. I decided I wanted to go see what there was to see at the thrift store after visiting dad. I drove to the store and kept on driving because the last thing I need is more stuff.

The thing about celiac is that the list of random foods you miss is so long. This is especially true as I cannot eat oats of any kind and they are everywhere these days. Anyway, my spouse heard me say I missed chicken noodle soup, so he made it this evening and it was delicious! It's been 15 years!

This cat just snarfed a churu and is quite sure she has a hard knock life. She forgets she was an actual trash cat who was so feral it took 3 shelter employees 45 minutes to wrangle her into a cat carrier in the shelter where she'd lived for six months.

When I was a kid we went to St. Augustine and saw The Deepwater Family perform sea shanties in like 1985? 1986? We lost the tapes, but CSU in Fort Collins has them in their collection and I world love to hear them again just one more time.

People need to understand that most federal agencies are chronically understaffed. There was a hiring freeze back during Obama's first administration that lasted for six years, iirc It created huge workload backlogs that were made worse by Covid. I promise you the employees aren't the problem.

The kid and I had a restful day. We slept in. We did chores. We looked at photos and videos of when she was little. We ate in. No money was spent. I so rarely got to spend that sort of time with my mom outside of yearly vacations. I want my kid to remember mundane times just at much as vacations.
