Today we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the resettlement of our Hmong and Southeast Asian allies. For 50 years, since the end of Vietnam War, Hmong Americans have been calling Minnesota home and making tremendous contributions to our culture and economy.

It’s heartbreaking to learn of a school shooting at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. There have already been 98 mass shootings just four months into 2025. These are preventable acts of senseless brutality. We must take action to end gun violence.

Medicaid keeps Minnesota's families safe, healthy, and financially secure — but Republicans are trying to make the largest cut to Medicaid in American history to pass massive tax cuts for billionaires. I'll always fight against Republican efforts to take away Minnesotans' healthcare.

One in four Minnesotans rely on Medicaid for their health care. Today I joined families and volunteers with Protect Our Care Minnesota to speak out against Republican plans in Washington to cut vital services like Medicaid to give away massive tax breaks for billionaires.

Thanks to the legislators who invited me and constituents who joined us in Saint Paul this weekend for a town hall on the impact of the Trump Administration's cuts to the services that Minnesotans rely on. I'm empowered to fight back through your actions — Together, we're making a difference.

I am grateful that Governor Josh Shapiro and his family are ok following the arson attack on their residence. Thanks to the swift actions of first responders who ensured that no one was injured and quickly apprehended a suspect. Political violence has no place in our country.

Minnesotans are not powerless to hold the Trump administration accountable. We are stronger together.

Elon Musk and President Trump are illegally and unconstitutionally cutting services that Americans rely on. While Republicans are cheering them on, my fellow Democrats and I are fighting back.

I’m looking forward to joining Senate Majority Leader Erin Murphy and State Representatives Kaohly Her, Samakab Hussein, Liz Lee, Maria Isa Pérez-Vega, Dave Pinto, Jay Xiong, and Leigh Finke for a town hall tomorrow at 1pm. I hope to see you there! Register here: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...

The House Republican budget adds $14 TRILLION in new debt over the decade. To put that in context: That’s more than DOUBLE the amount that the entire federal government spends annually! I voted NO.

The Republicans' fiscally irresponsible budget includes: 📉 $7 trillion in tax cuts for the rich, paid for with debt 🚫 Up to $880 billion in Medicaid cuts 🚱 Up to $230 billion in cuts to food assistance 💸 $14 trillion in new debt over the decade

Thanks to Como and other Minnesota zoos, animals mistreated by SeaQuest in Roseville have been safely relocated to new homes. I am committed to protecting cold blooded animals by working to update the Animal Welfare Act.

Happy 50th birthday to Voyageurs National Park, one of our nation's greatest treasures! 🎂

Vaccines save lives. HHS Secretary Kennedy’s anti-vaccine rhetoric is dangerous and deadly. We do not want to return to the past where measles and other preventable diseases spread easily. I urge all parents: Vaccinate your children.

Elon Musk is an unelected billionaire running DOGE as if he doesn't have to answer to Americans. I'm calling on Speaker Johnson to immediately bring Musk before Congress to explain his actions and answer questions in a public setting.

Elon Musk and President Trump are trying to break Medicaid and Social Security. They're attacking the free press, defunding colleges and universities, and rolling back our rights. This weekend, Minnesotans gathered by the thousands to say #HandsOff!

Minnesotans are here to show Elon Musk and President Trump that we’ve had enough! #handsOff

I’ll be at the Capitol today. I invite you to join me and your fellow Minnesotans to rally against President Trump’s scheme to gut Social Security, Medicaid, and Veterans’ Benefits to fund tax cuts for his billionaire donors. See you at noon. #HandsOff

I'm not going to let Elon Musk and President Trump rewrite history. I'm prepared to tell the full story — the good things, the bad things, and the challenges we face together as a nation.

President Trump fired NSA's top officials who upheld security standards while shielding his 18 appointees who jeopardized it by using Signal for classified info. Scapegoating qualified leadership to protect his appointees who broke the law is disgraceful and weakens our national security!

The remains of four U.S. soldiers return to Dover Air Force Base today, and President Trump couldn't be bothered to be present for it. Instead, he's golfing at Mar-a-Lago. Trump is paying more attention to a Saudi-backed golf tournament than he is to our nation's fallen heroes.

Great meeting yesterday with General Xavier Brunson, Commander of UN Command, ROK/US Combined Forces Command and U.S. Forces Korea. Grateful for his leadership and for all U.S. troops stationed in South Korea who are advancing peace and collaboration with our allies in the region.

President Trump says his tariff rollout is “going very well.” Most American families shocked by the hit to their retirement savings and higher costs today would disagree.

As a candidate, Donald Trump promised he’d lower costs on ‘Day One.’ As President, Trump’s igniting a trade war that his own advisors say will bring economic pain for the American people.

The only thing the Trump Tariffs will "liberate" is Americans’ money from their bank accounts.

"Groceries" is only an old-fashioned and beautiful term if you are an out-of-touch billionaire who does not buy them. Tariffs are taxes. Grocery prices will rise.

President Trump’s highest national security officials are showing a pattern of mishandling sensitive information. Personal email accounts are not allowed for official national security business and any government official found using them for this purpose must be held accountable.

Elon Musk is lying about USAID. USAID’s leadership around the world not only helps the hungry and those suffering under authoritarian regimes and disasters – It helps address problems before they reach our shores.

Today, I honored Gordy Kirk, who passed away on March 2nd, three weeks shy of his 102nd birthday. A proud member of Saint Paul’s Rondo neighborhood, Gordy was a World War II combat veteran who bravely served his country at a time when the ranks of our Armed Forces were segregated.

I extend my condolences to the families, friends, and fellow servicemembers of the U.S. Army soldiers who we lost during a training exercise in Lithuania. Our nation is grateful for their service.

Republicans in Congress have already given up their power to the executive, and now they're demanding the same from the judiciary. I will vote no on the ridiculous scheme to ban nationwide injunctions. We must maintain a nonpartisan bench and protect the separation of powers.

In a win for our community, a federal judge stopped Elon Musk and President Trump from illegally canceling teacher training grants for UMN and St. Thomas University. The President cannot illegally take away scholarships to give away massive tax cuts to Elon Musk and his billionaire megadonors.

On Transgender Day of Visibility, we celebrate Minnesota’s transgender community and recommit to standing up for our neighbors in the face of hatred. As your Governor, I’m proud to stand in this fight with you.

In a win for consumers, a federal Judge halted the dismantling of the CFPB over the weekend. I joined over 200 House Democrats in an amicus brief for this very case to defend CFPB. If Donald Trump wants to avoid courts ruling against him, he should stop doing illegal things.

Eid Mubarak! As the holy month of Ramadan draws to a close, I’m wishing Muslims in Minnesota and around the globe a joyous and peaceful #EidAlFitr.

On this National Vietnam War Veterans Day, let us honor, remember, and extend our gratitude to all who served our nation during the Vietnam War Era.

President Trump's tariffs have caused turmoil and unpredictability in the U.S. economy: 🔻 Consumer confidence is at a 12-year low 🔻 1 in 4 U.S. companies has scaled back hiring plans 🔻 Inflation has increased since Trump took office 🔻 Unemployment rose to 4.1% in February

President Trump is letting the richest man in the world destroy Social Security to fund tax cuts for billionaires. Elon Musk’s illegal cuts to the Social Security Administration are pushing the system to a breaking point and will hurt Minnesotans.

President Trump & House Republicans are moving forward on plans to cut Medicaid so they can give TRILLIONS in tax cuts to Elon Musk and Trump’s billionaire donors. Last weekend I heard from Minnesota health leaders how our children would be impacted by cuts to their health care.

The Supreme Court's 7 to 2 decision in support of these Biden gun safety protections reflects the serious threat that ghost guns pose to our communities.

Everyone on the Signal chat must be held fully accountable, including the other 18 senior Trump Administration officials who had a duty to intervene immediately. They failed to do that. Republicans in Congress must immediately issue subpoenas, hold hearings, and investigate this reckless conduct.

If anyone else in the military did what Secretary Hegseth did, they would be fired immediately, could be dishonorably discharged, and certainly would lose their security clearance. We cannot have one set of rules for the Secretary of Defense and another set of rules for everyone else.

The Secretary of Defense used a non-secure, commercial messaging app to discuss the timeline of an impending military operation. This information in the hands of adversaries would certainly put American lives at risk.

The Department of Defense specifically prohibits DoD personnel from using Signal to share non-public information. Secretary Hegseth shared detailed information in the Signal chat about a forthcoming military strike — a clear and obvious violation of his own department's policy.
