Anyone with half-a-brain and who's paid any attention to the GOP has seen this coming for 40 years. For as long as I can remember, Republicans have flirted with racism, fascism and conspiracy theories. They just don't flirt anymore--they've married it all.

As someone who "found Jesus" in the mid-70's mainline fallout of the "Jesus Movement" with all it's millinarianism (cf Hal Lindsey), "charismatic/evangelical" exploration, and the artistic-iconography of that environment, this is weird to say the least.

My wife has created a monster. She let Teagun (one of our 2 cats--"the gun that shoots tea" ) watch YouTube videos with birds and squirrels for a few afternoons and now he's addicted to TV. It doesn't matter what it is, he sits right there making a better door than a window.

An astute comment in this subreddit thread:

Portuguese editorial cartoonist Zez Vaz reaches back to Tiananmen Square to call on American defiance.

"I resent and reject" said Torres. And that right there's the problem. If you're going to resent and reject what your constituents are asking and demanding of you then you have no business being in office. Listen to your constituents, and drop the fucking ego!

Here's my social-networking heresy (probably to the right and the left): I think there are more Interesting ing things to read/learn/talk-about than Trump.

My "first life" makes me think weird thoughts..Iine "what was the average life expectancy in 1st century Palestine?" The answer is 30-35 years (factoring in infant mortality). Which means if there was a historical Jesus, He was moving into his old age by his purported crucifixion. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Do you remember this? Last night, I thought, "I don't think he's ever read the Barmen Declaration."

I heard an interview with Sam Harris a while back (Tim Miller--The Bulwark interviewed) in which he said "quitting all social networking was the best unexpected brain hack he'd found." I'm giving that some consideration.

The second paragraph is the best! #panama

I have had it up to hear (points to a spot somewhere above head) with democratic Senators posting their complaints and wishes for something to be done here. I wasn't elected to office. I have no power. YOU were. If Tuberville could gum up the works for a year, why can't you? Chickenshits.
