Slightly annoyed that I couldn't fit THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL, THE LOOK OF SILENCE, or AFTER YANG somewhere in here, but that's the way the listmaking cookie crumbles

Was going to see THE PHOENICIAN SCHEME last night but arrived too late after the showtime, so I watched 28 YEARS LATER instead. I am ... kind of shocked at how good it was?

amtrak’s marketing team gets it

"I asked ChatGPT" "I asked Grok" ok well I asked Gandalf and he said he has not passed through fire and death to bandy crooked words with a witless worm

I seductively push my queen's-knight pawn forward, inviting Black to engage in the Evans Gambit. I arch one eyebrow rakishly: "Forbidden fruit tastes the sweetest."

When Trump finally dies there will be calls for civility and “respect for the office” from even his harshest critics and I’m telling you right now I plan on saying things so harsh they might knock the earth off its axis

So yes. Just got reminded of this. It's not a long story, and not a particularly beginning-middle-end one, but I've been chewing on the encounter since it happened. Here goes...

"Dr. Scorpio, a controversial figure because of his support for scorpion force-feeding, said the scientific establishment suppresses studies that have found scorpion-swallowing to be beneficial. Meanwhile, his opponents have drawn criticism for their ties to radical anti-scorpion groups."

THE FUGITIVE. Harrison Ford, patron saint of the Dad Movie, has to avenge his wife & use his expertise to save kids, help regular folks, and dispense justice. Tommy Lee Jones is trying to do the same thing in the name of the law, but with even more palpable dad energy. 2 dad figures in just 1 movie!

Happy Father's Day to everyone except the bootlicking conservative stooges who are making life worse for every father on this continent 👍

Kirk Cameron sitting in church tomorrow, giving thanks that someone else has finally taken the title of "most pathetic birthday party ever caught on film"

This looks like an 80s comedy where John Belushi & some stoners steal a tank for shits & giggles

😬

so uhhh

Last night at 11:30, I decided "ah screw it" and put HEAT on while I played a tabletop game to decompress. I normally hate watching movies as a "background" to another activity (for me, it's either full attention or watch nothing), but HEAT is so good it survives even that shoddy treatment.
