To my considerable surprise, I seem to be consistently capping out at 3, with many contenders at that point. Immediate answers are: Zanac (NES); Castlevanias 1, 2, and Bloodlines; Ristar; X-Wing; TIE Fighter. Others were not *bought* that many times but included GOG/Steam license sharing or similar.

Today's strange #retrocomputing fact: Tandy (whose TRS-80 was part of the "holy trinity" of 1977 home computing) and Coleco (first SoC home game console, and later the Colecovision, the most powerful game console of the Atari era) started out as leatherworking companies.

My Discord client, Discord Messenger, now runs on Windows 98! (And also, 95, but you need extra stuff. Win98SE runs it right out of the box.)

This is Jerry Lawson. He invented the video game cartridge for the Fairchild Channel F system. Because of his invention, many consoles had cartridges and CD formats and would become the norm. The Atari 2600, NES, Genesis, and many consoles wouldn't exist without him. Happy Black History Month.
