Where is this “clean bench” requirement for Saturday? No one said that was required! #tonytonytony

Breaking News: The House narrowly passed a Republican budget resolution that calls for slashing federal spending to pay for President Trump’s tax cuts.

Note here that Musk is now literally assigning himself new contracts based on the use of his DOGE wrecking crew and the associated micro-bros. this isn't a "conflict of interest". it's just handing yourself federal money www.cnn.com/2025/02/25/b...

I will never not promote libraries, they are a vast public good and worth celebrating for themselves, and also they buy lots of books, which keeps a whole bunch of authors in the business. Please support them!

Doing some research on my uncle Harold Taylor's service in WW II. 471 hours as a P-51 pilot, with 3 mos in POW camp. After release told his parents he was trying to find his unit to go to the Pacific. "I feel as though I didn't do my share," he wrote. "So I'll try again." #HistScaleModels

Sail 12 is feeling much better and appreciates the expressions of concern. On further reflection, her center flap is now light gray for a more authentic version of herself, and she continues to believe that the smaller fuselage roundel is not only slimming but plausibly accurate. #HistSCaleModels

Two day build of a 1972 kit - before I realized there's a state of the art new-tool kit of the exact same subject - HS-D of 109 Sqn - released in 2021. But I learned a lot and I "might" get the new one one of these days. #HistScaleModels putteringinthestudy.com/2025/02/17/1...

Finished upgrading my Dick Best SBD to the terrific new Flyhawk kit. #HistScaleModels putteringinthestudy.com/2025/02/17/1...

Doing the Night underside of a 109 Sqn Mossie but decided would be easier to mask off the camo dorsal than the black. Working out okay. Wait, what do you mean HS/D has a glass nose? The 1972 Airfix kit doesn’t have that as an option. #histscalemodels

Pretty good first day on the Mossie. Turns out I picked decals that are the same as the 2021 new tool Airfix, so using the new tool instructions as a paint guide. RAF Ocean Gray down - will be ready for Dark Green tomorrow, then mask for the black underside. Nacelles prepainted black.

Next project - an initial boxing of the 1972 Airfix Mosquito that I picked up on a sale table. There’s a far better 2021 new tool Airfix but this is my first Mossie so thought I’d start with an easy one. Using aftermarket Blackbird Models 722026 decals of a B.XVI of 109 Sqn in 1944.

Calling it done. My new Dick Best Midway SBD on the left - a Flyhawk kit replacing an Airfix build from 2017. Will have a complete post on the build hopefully later today. #histscalemodels

Just look at this nonsense - the inner frames are there, and all the rear sections nestle just like the photos in Kinzey. Insane functionality. This is 1/72 scale. #histscalemodels

Unmasking and starting to dry fit the canopy sections. #HistScaleModels

Kind of like the embedded Party reps in Communist governments.

The answer is always “another Dauntless”. Come over to the SBD side.

Real men admit they can’t airbrush this pattern. 19 days till #TonyTonyTony and I have my kit and “cheat sheet” ready to go. Really looking forward to watching this community take on a group build! #histscalemodels
