Disgraceful reporting on the BBC just now from Sarah Smith. All the other commentators framed it differently (and accurately) as disgraceful behaviour by Trump and Vance rather than Zelensky. Smith was an obvious outlier. How on earth can that go uncontested?

Holding Labour accountable is reasonable but that’s NOT what is happening. What we’re seeing is the most rich powerful people in the world throwing all they’re got at a democratically elected UK government, because it’s far less likely to work solely in THEIR interests than the previous one.

It has become increasingly popular to be critical of Starmer. Therefore, prior to the GE , when attempting to persuade floating voters to vote for Labour, I occasionally chose to nullify that potential objection by saying “I’m no Starmer fan, but…” I’m never doing that again.

My unpopular opinion is that the government is doing a lot. Most of it is good, some of it is very good, and some of it is not good at all. It has a narrative and a sense of moral purpose - to defeat populism through competence and service. It has an ideology, which is left technocrat.

I loved #Outnumbered when the kids were kids. The last special had the adults”kids” behaving as kids which meant the charm that made the show such a success was replaced with unfunny rudeness. Tonight’s special at least can’t be accused of that, but it was just ……meh. Such a disappointment.
