Miss Rachel with some moral clarity

I had a prof in grad school who once told us that if we turned our papers in late he would give us a grade but he wouldn’t read it because he’d be on a boat. Something like, “your grade will depend on my mood and the sea conditions, if you’re the gambling type”

What was the point of being absolutely saturated with media about World War II and the holocaust growing up if we can’t recognize Miller and Noem for what they are.

Over and over again, it’s the people with the most to lose who have the courage to speak up and fight back.

Incredible content over on Boston area used instruments section of Craigslist. NAME ONE BAND YOU GUYS. Bet you can’t.

Your regular reminder that "bike lanes" are actually #MobilityLanes & lots of different people use them I met Monica on Ruggles St who *loves* the new bikeway and relies on it to travel to Nubian Sq. When drivers block the bike lane? You're keeping her from getting home safely @wutrain.bsky.social

“Hope is the fluorescent bird. The bird makes no sound. It is in a cage. No one can find the key, and no one has seen the key in a very long time, and they aren’t sure that they’d even free the bird if they found the key. And yet, collectively, people must keep asking for it.”

Unless Cassie is 11 months pregnant with twins, the courtroom artist should calm down.

Sesame Street is officially UNION! Workers at Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit behind Sesame Street, have voted 55-19 to join @opeiulocal153.bsky.social Huge congrats to @sesameworkersunion.bsky.social! “We can officially say that today, May 15th, is brought to you by the letter U!”

Please use this image as the reply post to all dems who're trying to compromise right now. You have my blessing.

I know it’s trite to say “touch grass” but I had a tough day and then my kid wanted to hunt for worms and guess what? Literally touching grass is great 10/10.

Attn @massgovernor.bsky.social, here’s something you can condemn.

If this 12 year old lives on Felton St., he’s one of my students. Even if he isn’t, my students will know him, he’s their friend or cousin. Proud of my city for setting up this neighborhood watch but terrified for us too.

I always laugh when I see the number of dandelions on our playground at this time of year. A living memorial to 25 years of kids blowing the seeds around at recess!

Bluesky: your digital public library, UU Church and community garden.

For every doll you deny me I will push another jet off an aircraft carrier

I made that NYT non-recipe for Bulgogi tofu, but it seemed dry so I threw some Panda Express orange sauce on because I’m innovative, not because I’m trash!

Great thread. I listened to Carly Simon’s “Let the River Run” recently and for a song from the movie Working Girl, it sure sounds a lot like it’s about Palestine!

My lovely neighbors are selling their house after 40+ years and their final act is to throw a block party on our street like they used to every summer in the 70s. That’s how to be an elder! I bet the current crop of families can keep it going at least 15 more years, LFG 🥳

Pope Fiction

We’re throwing a Preschool rager for my kid’s 4th birthday. I only had one RSVP (Jack, was an excavator for Halloween) and I was getting nervous. Today at pick up, Jack was hyping the party so hard. Literally quoting the invitation “THERES GOING TO BE PIZZA AND ICE CREAM AND A TREASURE HUNT”…

Dads rock

A grandma who works at Target. An advocate for farmworkers. A cancer researcher. A grad student who wrote an op-ed. A hairdresser. A sheet metal worker and loving father to an autistic child. At least two people who took a wrong turn on the same bridge in Detroit. A toddler.

A diner in Belmont, MA that was only open for a couple of years had a peaches and cream stuffed French toast that I would time travel to be able to eat again.

If you had asked me when I left the church 10 years ago if the US government or the Catholic Church would be more progressive and anti-fascist in the year 2025, I would not have guessed the Catholic Church and neither would any of you!! This is a great thread 🧵

My biggest contribution to male mental health is that a few times a month, my father in law comes over to see his granddaughter, but then I make pancakes and leave him and my husband alone to talk for the first time in their shared 44 years on this earth!

Michael if you call infrastructure a dick-reduction strategy we will never get infrastructure again.
