#WorldSparrowDay. Eurasian tree sparrow (_Passer montanus_). Watercolour on paper-backed silk, 106 × 116 mm. This piece from 2023 was the first time I finally tried painting on silk. I'll repost an old XTwitter thread on the process later. The bird's proportions bother me slightly now, but hey ho.

A part of me is grateful for the sudden influx of followers but it feels so meaningless right now. My personal life is breaking apart, my relationship, my entire adult life, is collapsing under me. I haven't been able to finish a drawing in so long I feel like a fraud. I feel so broken-hearted
