I divorced (amicably) late year, and I plan to drop my husband's family name. As I have a complicated relationship with my father and his family, I decided to create my own name. But now I'm debating. Do I take back my maiden name to lessen the risk of (further) disenfranchisement?

Weird moment doing new hire paperwork (tutoring gig at school). Had to sign a oath in which I agreed to abide by the laws of the US Constitution. Something I'd never given a second thought to in the past. But today, it gave me pause. I had a lot of thoughts and feelings in that pause. 😞

5calls.org I've made my calls again today. The site/app makes it super easy, pulling your reps with contact info, providing issues to let you select which you're most concerned about (helpful, as a full list of my current concerns is an inarticulate scream), and provides scripts.

I just realized there's no photographic proof of our third pet. Mr. Skitters is an older, recovering feral gent who appreciates on-time meals, comfy lounging spots, and head butts (but probably not from you). He lets me trim his nails, is a good big brother, and is just generally a Very Good Boy.
