Hard to read the quotes in this as evidence of anything other than a pure manifestation of Freud's death drive. www.washingtonpost.com/business/202...

Jews have a word for people like this.

Inordinately proud of myself for figuring out the answer to my 7yo's question, "can girls be drag queens?" is a Chappell Roan video.

The red cards worked! Oh this makes me so happy and grateful for organizers who I know worked *so hard* for months to create these conditions. I really hope it holds.

one thing Congressional Democrats could be doing is using the franking privilege to send mailers out to every constituent informing them that an unelected organization without Congressional oversight has control of their social security information (which is in fact legal for them to do)

This is some of the most disgusting, craven, selfish behavior I've ever seen from an individual in public life. He is ripping families apart and sending people to die to save his own skin. I cannot conceive of more despicable behavior from someone elected to a role of public responsibility.

Heroism under fascism.

These people are all shockingly illiterate - the subject of the piece cites Oppenheimer as your inspiration for understanding the creation of weaponry as divine. JD Vance gets the Parable of the Samaritan backwards and corrected by the Pope. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/11/b...

At some point someone just doesn't give them the system password, right? Very easy for me with zero risk to say anything but it's a failure of these agencies and/or all of us to create conditions where these individuals can feel financially/psychologically secure enough to just say no.

The degree to which this is all motivated by cocktail party resentments is just another reason why this is the Dumbest Coup Ever. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/07/u...

The Gaza Strip superimposed on Chicago

Seventeenth-century historian confirming that yes, this is a very familiar pattern (see: Thomas Wentworth, Earl of Strafford).

It's a gender reaction, held off for a decade by VC subsidizing the outsourcing of wife and secretary work to a contingent class. cooperativeoverlapping.substack.com/p/on-the-gen...

The portrait of Grace Hopper, under the petty-ass brown paper at the NSA museum, laughs triumphantly.

They didn't shut down USAID They illegally entered a secure facility on a weekend when hardly anyone was there, took sensitive data on US citizens/businesses, destroyed govt property, + unlawfully fired Americans (1/6)https://skywriter.blue/pages/did:plc:lko7zoni57x6grldl77ws5eb/post/3lhc7krunjk2r

It appears Trump is purporting to consolidate power today by making his cabinet secretaries also serve as acting directors of agencies. Thus far, we have reports of Sec of State Rubio as acting head of USAID and Treasury Sec. Bessent as acting head of CFPB.

Heroism under fascism.

This is also true of T14 law schools.

This is my take too. Not sure if it's the Elon factor (which...did not see coming) but I was psychologically prepared to stand between the state and someone, not watch the state crumble out from under me.

An unelected, erratic, ketamine-addled billionaire with far right/white nationalist views has taken control of the personnel and payment systems of the United States government. Not an exaggeration, not hyperbole.

More heroism under fascism. www.propublica.org/article/trum...

Just a profound sense of vicarious shame that, in the end, it's gonna be the Silicon Valley fuckers and not I-95 corridor FedSoc/Heritage that does this country in. An ironic twist after spending Trump 1.0 securely in the CA bubble. @adriandaub.bsky.social called it.

One has a constituency of voters (and taxpayers); the other has a constituency of donors.

i'm tired of being told to stop doomscrolling. i'm just scrolling, it's not my fault there's doom on there

Indeed it does. And has for a while, and not just in the "monarchical overreach" way. cooperativeoverlapping.substack.com/p/on-treason...

More heroism under fascism.

I love my hometown!!!

This would be disturbingly consistent with Musk's approach to Twitter.

When I complained that US political culture obscures public infrastructure and increasing its visibility was an important strategic goal toward moving us toward democratic socialism I DIDN'T MEAN IT LIKE THIS

This is what heroism under fascism looks like. www.chalkbeat.org/chicago/2025...

We're pretty far back in line but it's not lost on me that the elimination of birthright citizenship has not, historically, worked out all that well for Jews.

Exclusive: An aide to House Speaker Mike Johnson advised Republican colleagues against subpoenaing former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson as part of their investigation into the Jan. 6, 2021, attack to prevent the release of sexually explicit texts that lawmakers sent her.
