Nantucket employers - if you have traditionally relied on J1 students for summer help - have you been in touch with former workers? Are they returning or have the deportations and detainments made the US a less attractive option? Do those who are coming have concerns?

If the accountant think hiring is hard today, wait until a generation of neurodivergent kids who have not had support in school starts to graduate. Even kids without IEPs benefit from 504 and the Dept of Ed. Kids who think differently innovate, but they will be less successful if they can’t read.
