Listening to this morning’s Stay Tuned with @preetbharara.bsky.social was frustrating but ultimately a good exercise. As Preet and Neal parried over university cancel culture, it helped me sharpen and clarify my thoughts on why Niall’s position that “cc is ruining universities” is the incorrect one.

I’ve used Threads daily since the day of its launch. I’ve used Bluesky only occasionally since I was able to join. On Threads I get some engagement. On Bluesky I get almost none. People talk all the time on Threads about how it compares with BS. I haven’t seen a single BS post about Threads.

In 2018 there was a big gov’t shutdown. A reporter went to check stats on how many gov’t employees were affected, so they went to the website that would give them the info. Turns out it was a gov’t site and wasn’t available bc of the shutdown.
