would love to see a volume/time graph on these for the past week

“Two of the Alberta Law Foundation's three provincially appointed board members have resigned in protest over proposed legislation that they say amounts to political interference in how vulnerable people access the justice system” #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli www.thecanadianpressnews.ca/prairies_bc/...

Trump is forcing Americans who are seeking their earned benefits to sign up for Elon Musk's app. Pure corruption.

Elon Musk boosting influencer who platforms far-right Putin allies (The Guardian 10 Ap 25): I rently left X, not least because 1/3-1/2 of my feed was Mario Nawfal, and I couldn't comment or block him. It's insidiously dangerous worldwide misinformation magnified by Musk.

I still can’t figure out when “we can deport you” turned into “we can put you in a hell hole prison in a third country, indefinitely, with no legal recourse.”

It’s the stupid, economy.

All of this could have been avoided if enough people had just decided to vote for a competent Black Indian woman. Racism...the downfall of America.

The GOP's nostalgia for manufacturing jobs is telling. In reality, their parents and grandparents enjoyed a "good life" because of unions, pensions, high marginal tax rates, and strong social policies — with a little post-War exceptionalism and a lot of racism and sexism thrown in.

Rand Paul: "The whole [tariffs] debate is so fundamentally backwards & upside down. It's based on a fallacy & the fallacy is this: that somehow in a trade, someone must lose. That somehow when you trade with someone, someone is taking advantage of you... I have a trade deficit with my grocery store"

Instead of using “emergency“ decrees to move us toward authoritarianism, Trump should declare our broken health care system an emergency and move us toward guaranteed health care for all. When 85 million Americans are uninsured or under-insured, that’s the true emergency.

Coming soon

Trump’s tariffs are the “biggest policy mistake in 95 years,” says Wharton finance professor Jeremy Siegel

One iconic American company is Levi Strauss. A company that has doubled down on its commitment to DEI. Riddle me that LiarMan. They also believe in "woke" concepts, such as sustainable cotton production and treating farmers ethically. But not even they are 100% "Made in America". Who is?

“I could march for democracy down the middle of Fifth Avenue and nobody would stop me” is more like it.

good grief 🫤

The entire permanent staff of the Division of Environmental Health Science and Practice was laid off. This division addresses issues such as asthma and air pollution, climate change and health, childhood lead poisoning, and cancer clusters.

If the four senators who voted to end the Canada tariffs threatened to block the reconciliation bill unless the tariffs were rescinded, I think they’d have leverage to force Trump’s hand. Not that they would, but they could.

“Making America Healthy Again”?

"high-level administrative access to the payroll system, allowing them to make changes to employment status, compensation level, health benefits and more — with no additional oversight or approval required..." www.nytimes.com/2025/03/31/u...

NEW: @aclu.org obtained ICE's "Alien Enemies Act Validation Guide," confirming all it takes to be sent to rot in prison in El Salvador is being Venezuelan and 1) having a tattoo an ICE officer says is a "gang tattoo" and 2) displaying "logos," "symbols" or clothes an ICE officer says are gang signs.

When you look at the list of institutions they want to defund: libraries, museums, the Smithsonian, public schools, PBS, NPR, archives, you can clearly see that the real threat to an authoritarian regime is an informed and educated public

If Putin is unable to defeat UA why would America bail him out w/o paying a big price? Russia is loaded with oil grain and minerals just like UA. Why are the GOP unwilling to confront DJT about that? We the American people will suffer by not capitalizing on our strength and Russia's weakness.

My latest, on the Signal affair: "They really think they can just brazen this out. And the worst part of it is, they might be right." Opinion: There won’t be a price to pay for imperilling U.S. security on Signal

“The Food and Drug Administration’s top vaccine official, Dr. Peter Marks, abruptly resigned Friday, saying in a searing letter that Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s aggressive stance on vaccines was irresponsible and posed a danger to the public.”

Raskin: "Look at how sick that is. Basically anybody who has rendered any ruling they disapprove of they think should be removed from the bench. Any lawyer who has ever represented a party adverse to them they think should be cleared out of the way. That is in naked opposition to the rule of law."

Friendly reminder of who Danielle Smith is meeting next week. #cdnpoli #canada #canadasky

"Elon Musk’s aerospace company SpaceX allows investors from China to buy stakes in the company as long as the funds are routed through the Cayman Islands or other offshore secrecy hubs, according to previously unreported court records..." www.propublica.org/article/elon...

Not to be a wide-eyed naïf about such things but... am I right in thinking that they levelled an entire building to get to one guy and *that* is not controversial to anyone in the American media or political class, only that this information was recklessly shared in an unsecured chat?
