Monster Hunter Wilds is the most approachable, if slightly mindless MonHun. I love it, but I think the series has reached a point where if it gets any more forgiving, it will lose something core to MH. Check out my review www.thegamer.com/monster-hunt...

Happy Like a Dragon Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii launch day everyone! If I start wearing an eyepatch to all my work meetings, blame Sega.

Posting late because I was distracted by Majima. Sorry, not sorry. www.thegamer.com/like-a-drago...

I honestly had very low expectations for Elden Ring Nightreign, launching so soon after Shadow of the Erdtree in a wholly new genre for FromSoftware, but already they've knocked it out of the park. www.thegamer.com/elden-ring-n...

South of Midnight is one of my most anticipated games of 2025 and one I got major Psychonauts and Hi-Fi Rush vibes from - after playing it, I’m happy to say that’s mostly the case, even if I want a little more from the combat. Check out my preview! www.thegamer.com/south-of-mid...

Time to post this again as freelance opportunities are drying up: Hi! I’m an experienced writer, editor, journo, critic, content strategist and more. I am always looking for work, and even more so these days. More about me here: www.kheehoon.me

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is unlikely to be the game that saves Ubisoft or changes the type of games it intends to make, but it is an impressive open world adventure in its own right. Here’s my thoughts after four hours of hands-on time: www.thegamer.com/assassins-cr... #AssassinsCreedShadows

Final Majima piece for the day... www.thegamer.com/like-a-drago...

You can also check out my preview write up, which mainly focuses on naval combat and the new ship side of things: www.thegamer.com/like-a-drago... I'll also have another piece going live in a couple of hours about my fave boi

My Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii Q&A with Sakamoto-san is up! There were a few interesting takeaways from the event for me.. www.thegamer.com/like-a-drago...

What a great way to kick off 2025! Welcoming in the Year of the Snake by celebrating my fave Majima of course! 🐍 Thank you @sega-west.bsky.social and RGGStudio for the invite!

Well it could be worse, so as long as it's not bad haha

I got to speak with the lovely folks over at @viceundercover.bsky.social again about one of my most anticipated games of 2025. You can read all about it here: www.thegamer.com/vice-underco...

I hope everyone had a lush Christmas. I came down with an absolute lurgy on Christmas eve and only just feeling more alive now but I did end up with a good book haul though! A bit of a theme here.

I finally did it! It's a Christmas miracle!

I had an absolutely fantastic time on this podcast! We spoke for AGES about games we've loved this year, and had a great laugh! Thank you so much @biggusbennus.bsky.social , @ednights.bsky.social , @megpelliccio.bsky.social and @lilchopshopgal.bsky.social for being awesome! 🧡

I really enjoyed doing this with everyone! I hope everyone else loves nearly three hours of chat about our favourite games, Hot Frosty, more games and us generally being weird.

⭐️ New Swapping Joysticks Special! ⭐️ We’re joined by @rosiecaddick.bsky.social @megpelliccio.bsky.social and @lilchopshopgal.bsky.social to talk about their favourite games of 2024. If you don’t have a huge wishlist at the end of the podcast, I’ll be stunned! 🔽LINKS🔽 @ednights.bsky.social

My Secret Santa at TheGamer clearly nailed my Christmas gift. Absolutely cackling right now.

@warframe.com releases its new chapter today, and I got to ask Creative Director @rebbford.bsky.social several things about The Hex, the Warframe Community, and the 1999 update itself. Check it out! www.thegamer.com/warframe-199...

This is so surreal! There are now guides for my indie game Mythwrecked on @thegamerweb.bsky.social... Like, A LOT OF THEM!

Final review of 2024 is live and it's Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind - had a fun time with it but its a little too short and simple outside of the Zord sections. It's good-good, but just shy of great-great www.thegamer.com/mighty-morph...

"...a must-play for puzzle fans" Aaah! Missed it last week but Phoenix Springs made @megpelliccio.bsky.social's GOTY list. Thank you so much! www.thegamer.com/game-of-the-...

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio plans to hold various events and making announcements leading up to the Yakuza/Like a Dragon 20th Anniversary next year (Dec 8, 2025). RGG will create a global structure to deliver various types of merch and content across Japan/Asia/West starting next year

Had the pleasure of interviewing @jumpovertheage.com again. They told me all about their personal crises during the game's development, which informed both their approach to the game and it's narrative. Thanks for being so open and honest, Gareth. Roll on January. www.thegamer.com/citizen-slee...

Future Publishing - best known for closing outlets/magazines, and owners of PC Gamer, TechRadar, etc - has partnered with OpenAI to feed all its content into its learning machine, with no say from writers. Short-sighted, moronic, self-sabotaging move. openai.com/index/openai...

Guardian and Observer journalists have asked people not to share Guardian stories for 48 hours from midnight tonight (Tues), to respect their strike and the virtual picket line

My 2024 GOTY list is here and if you know me at all you could have bet money on what landed #1 www.thegamer.com/game-of-the-...

I got to chat to the lovely folks at @twopointstudios.bsky.social again about Two Point Museum! You can read the full interview here: www.thegamer.com/two-point-st...

Knew I'd be keen on Antonblast, but didn't expect it to rocket up my GOTY list as fast as it did - powerhouse of a platformer! @tonygraystation.bsky.social and the team cooked www.thegamer.com/antonblast-r...

The Palestinian-made game Dreams on a Pillow is 413 dollars and 13 backers short of respectively 60K raised and 1,000 supporters. Who wants to help push it over towards those milestones? launchgood.com/1948

We’re hiring! Debug are looking for a writer with editorial experience and a passion for indie games to join our team as a staff writer. This is a paid, long-term freelance position with regular work in every print issue! If that sounds like you, our DMs are open. We’d love to see your portfolio!

Currently in denial about how much money I have spent on this app.

Finishing off the Year of the Dragon in style thanks to @insertcoin.bsky.social! ❤️🐉

PSA toot for Eurogamer freelancers!🎺 We now have a new point of contact for reviews/feature pitches, in our excellent managing editor Katharine Castle (@karthupial.bsky.social). I'm sticking around (sorry) but shifting focus to topical/op-ed/crit stuff, with only v sporadic commissions from now on!

Finally!
