It took me a longgg time to get past that feeling of being punished for (what I felt like) was just being friendly and interactive. Finding other kids who were silly and chattery helped a lot but I do still feel really aware of interrupting “important” discussions and such!

In my jr high science class, loved the teacher (he reminded us of Bill Nye). Another student was struggling so teacher thought “Meg can help that student study”. That kid brought out my old chatterbox tendencies & we created pure chaos, the teacher wasn’t even mad lol Glad to be here with y’all 😆

In 1st grade I got in trouble for being a “chatterbox”. Was put at a desk in the corner and the teacher made a tick mark on my desk if I made any noise. Guess who rarely ever spoke up in class again until I was nearly in high school???? 😤

I have an *old* kindle I’ve been using for 15 years, just never saw a reason to replace it I started downloading my books the other day and there are a select few I can’t because they’re not compatible with my kindle. Yayyyy 😑 Such a weird system to decide what you’re allowed to download!

Look, I’m an introvert and I’m SHY 🙃 Putting myself out there is never gonna be easy lol

Lesson learned - next time I’ll make a sign that says “FREE HATS” because I don’t want people to think I’m trying to sell these!! In the meantime if anyone wants one, I’ll send it to you 😅

Never mind. Doc says she doesn’t have any concerns and my labs look good. Guess I’m cured! Yay!! (Excuse me while I go lie in a tired heap in the corner for a bit)

These are gorgeous!! 🤩 Wow!

Exactly. I want to always have a home base where I decide everything that’s on it, no ads, etc. And have it be fun to explore and look at. One of my iterations back when I did coding/animation involved planets and stars as an interactive menu, that was a fun mid-2010s vibe 😁🪐✨

I really relate to this! I do so many different things and I jump between projects faster than the speed of sound… I am pretty pleased with the format I’ve settled on for my own site but it needs a lot of updating at the moment. Always so many other things to do… 😅

Ugh why is it always “finals are today but oops you haven’t attended a single class” and/or moving into very strange dorm situations 😅

Just because it can be done, doesn’t mean it *should* be done, is all I’m saying

They’re all so WEIRD I feel like we’re in a simulation or something

That commercial… omg. Something about today feels so off and surreal, and that commercial makes me think this whole thing is a simulation or something lol (Also the commercial with Seal as a seal?! What the actual F)

Yes!!!! Sounds like it went great. 🎉 I had people say after my drawing class today that they’re thankful to be able to slow down & be creative. I’ll take it. I also had to keep reiterating that their work didn’t have to be perfect!! That is such an important message for beginners (& all of us)

Oooh do you remember what books they were? I’m fascinated by this kind of thing. 🚀

This sounds so fun and interesting!! You’ll do awesome!! Tomorrow I’m doing an herb drawing class for our master gardener group and I’m definitely trying to hype myself up hehe

Oh yes! I did see that they’ll work with grocery stores etc which is so great. I love growing veggies, especially tomatoes, and my grape vines produce ridiculous amounts of fruit every year. I could never hope to eat or store it all haha 😅

It seems like the local food banks want non-perishables, which makes sense. On their food donations page, IFB links to Ample Harvest to find places to donate freshly grown produce, which is how I found that site. It’s a bit out of date but it’ll be a good place to start to contact organizations

Someone recommended this place to me when I mentioned I had 100+ lbs of grapes on my vines (every year…) but as far as I can tell they only pickup from businesses. Hence the thought of making my garden into an LLC or something www.rollingtomato.org
comment in response to post
The problem has been that I couldn’t find a place in Boise that would accept fresh produce. Just now came across ampleharvest.org that lists a bunch of pantries, that’s a good place for me to start I think!

You had me with moss & trees!! 🤩 Lovely work

Had another thought… have you ever read the space travel book by Christopher Pike (yes the 90s horror books guy)? Called the starlight crystal. I have the little paperback still and read it every once in awhile. He also wrote one called tachyon web that was interesting

Oooh this sounds so good!! I’ll have to check it out 🤩

I feel like such a cliche with my mental process re: showering. First it’s “I don’t want to, that’s so much work” and once I’m in there “this is the best, I never want to leave” and then once I’m dry I acknowledge it was worth it… and thank goodness I don’t have to do that again for awhile 🙃

I've used various platforms over the years as a web designer & as a customer myself. Now my website is on Squarespace & I do really like it. It was easy to get going, customize & manage. I have a client who is not tech savvy that does well using it for a shop & blog. Let me know if you have more ?s

Haha I’ll give that a go! Thanks 😁

It is not a cheap hobby, for sure. And the number of filament materials and colors out there is overwhelming, it feels dangerous as a way to collect too many materials just like I already to with yarn 😅

One thing I was most excited about was making crochet hooks, I thought how cool to be able to make craft tools at home! It needs some finessing, maybe use a different filament, but I was happy with it as a first try. Also designed a small weaving loom that’s pretty fun.

I just got into 3D printing recently and it’s been so much fun! So satisfying to end up with a physical piece of art based off something made digitally 😁

That leaf pendant is so lovely! Snagged that one 😄🍃 You do amazing work

Yes I definitely intend to add so much to my site this year! It’s just a quick “about me” and basic shop right now… but I have grand plans 😅

Very cool! I have a couple projects where I *intended* to come back and weave strands through like this and I never manage to 🤦🏻‍♀️ Maybe this year is the time I’ll finish those haha I love the look!
