Recording something a little unusual today... #musiciansky #FolkMusic

One of the joys of living in Cornwall is getting to see some exciting sealife. To celebrate World Whale Day, here's a photo of a minke whale Annabelle saw last summer #WorldWhaleDay

Here's a dark love song for you this #ValentinesDay - the story of two lovers who committed murder and paid the price

Meet the band: our saxes are our pride and joy. The alto is Chris' baby, while the tenor (Big Stanley) is Annabelle's ever-reliable workhorse. They share the spotlight in our track Lutra Lutra https://buff.ly/4gmfOr5

Meet the band: Chris grew up in Hampshire, spending most of his time extracting footballs from nettle patches. He also loved playing music, finding his voice on saxophone. He spends much of his spare time looking for wildlife wherever he happens to be, & playing music with anyone who will let him.

Spent the morning sending out the press release for our album launch later this month. Any #FolkMusic or #jazz bloggers / playlist curators out there I should send it to? Any top tips for getting our music out there? #IndependentMusic

Trying out linocutting - here's an attempt at an under appreciated flower, a dandelion

Only one month to go until our album Meles meles is released! We cannot wait for you to hear our latest work.

Our album art showcases a quilled depiction of two otters (Lutra lutra), created by curling strips of paper. This intricate, homemade aesthetic parallels our music-making process and celebrates one of our favourite animals. #Quilling #Otters

Spotted snowdrops during my walk today. They bring to mind a melody... 🎶 #NatureWalk #SpringVibes https://buff.ly/4anKPJV

Our first album, Lutra lutra, uses the textures and tones of saxes, flutes, clarinets and voices to celebrate nature, with songs about swifts, badgers, otters, plants and the landscapes of Surrey, Hampshire, Devon and Cornwall meleslutra.bandcamp.com/album/lutra-...

Spiralling global temperatures: 2024 edition

Great to catch up with our friend and collaborator Paul Isaac today. He's the man who takes our recordings of dozens of lines and mixes them so they are clear and intelligible. Exciting plans for the next album.

What will the future of the warming stripes be? 2024 could be the start of a stabilisation of global temperatures, or it might appear to be a cool year. Which one of these stories becomes reality depends on our choices today, and every day until then. We are likely to regret not acting sooner.

Hi lovely Bluesky people! We're an experimental folk band inspired by our local landscape and wildlife. Our music is woodwind-focused and influenced by jazz, classical music & prog rock. Here's our first album meleslutra.bandcamp.com/album/lutra-...
