A former student of mine from when I taught longsword/HEMA is now winning medals & teaching longsword class. Another mentee of mine learned about longsword from me bc of writing a book is also competing. (And yanno, finished their book & snagged an agent.) I am quite pleased by all of this.

I finished my revisions. Now comes the 24 hours of refusing to return the book bc I love these few hours when a book is JUST MINE. I do this with drafting & revisions . . . just hold it. Once I let go, it's fair game for people to criticize, love or hate, but right now, it's My Book Only.

In the last month, I’ve been to Powell’s (Oregon), Murder by the Book (Houston), and Poisoned Pen (Scottsdale AZ)…and then last night checked out The Bookish Shop (Gilbert AZ). That leaves today as a Changing Hands (Tempe) day. All excellent shops! Support an indie shop today.

Repairman #2 this week. 4yr old fridge died. May be fixed? The funny part though was the repairman saw my hens. He went from surly to friendly seeing my birds. Him: Do you give away any eggs? Me: ?? Him: I love eggs. Eat them every day. A guy last week gave me a dozen. What a very odd encounter.

Just FYI, at your routine physical, you can ask for your measles immunity to be checked; they can find the answer from the tests they're already doing, but they won't necessarily check by default. I actively asked yesterday for the first time and had my answer hours later.
