I hadn't realized that the United Healthcare CEO was murdered before 7 AM. I can't imagine wanting someone dead enough that I'd kill them between MoMA and the Plaza before breakfast the week after Thanksgiving.

Killing the site entirely within like two hours of announcing its closure is so fucking cruel to all the people who just want to save their clips to try and get new jobs. To, what, avoid paying another month's hosting fees or something? Fuck off.

This is actually fascinating, if you look at the other posts of the accounts posting "I'm sorry, OpenAI won't let me do that" it's a whole ecosystem of chatbots just talking to each other about random stuff. No humans involved, just endless sludge

"It's not illegal to buy & sell abstract art in America." Unless, that is, it's 1926 & you're the US Customs official who classified Brancusi's Bird in Space as a utilitarian object (in the category "kitchen utensils & hospital supplies") & thus subject to import taxes www.moma.org/explore/insi...

It seems like the "eh, we don't need the Constitution" guy *isn't* who you'd name a bridge after. 🤷‍♀️ en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sherman...

TIL you have to have a prescription for a mammogram. That's ridiculous. I can walk into a CVS and say, "Hi, I'd like a pap smear." You should damn well be able to walk in somewhere and say, "I'd like a mammogram." We need to overturn the healthcare system. This is insane.

We previously shared that we’re releasing a public web view soon so that you can view Bluesky posts without being logged in. The upcoming release will not have the public web view enabled yet, but it will have a tool to opt out of it. More details in this thread 🧵

Unironic support, excellent messaging, someone call the DNC.

Once again I propose that we replace all instances of "defund the police" with "the fuck are we paying these guys for"

So I finally watched Happiest Season, and I agree with everyone who said she should've ended up with Aubrey Plaza. Also, how are we glossing over the dad sinking all their savings into the campaign?!

This post on Threads (of all things!) was actually how I found out.

www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news... Golly, that sounds like a good idea. 🤦‍♀️

just got a marketing email from a british tour company that wished us a happy "north american thanksgiving." canadians seething right now. they put charles on their coins for nothing

One of my less bright ideas: climb onto the roof of a cathedral directly opposite the hotel the President of the United States is currently staying in, and get stared at by a load of secret service agents holding guns on the other rooftops.

This is horrifying

You know, we need a law — if you want the tax write-off for destroying a finished piece, it immediately enters the public domain and the Library of Congress (or their designee) becomes responsible for archiving it and distributing it. I can’t write off my abandoned novels; studios shouldn’t, either.

This meeting could have been a fist fight

Just gonna say that a politician posing for a picture with his kid in the kid's homemade, classic-design costume on Halloween is not a statement about geopolitical events.

Wow. Bobby Knight died. I wonder if the fish will show up.
