Rep Raskin has been great. Rep Ocasio-Cortez has been great. And Rep Frost and Rep Crockett. Senator Murphy. Maybe no one knew exactly what to do. But such people laid down a clear marker. Let’s respect these and other elected federal representatives who stood out these first few weeks.

Just look at these paragraphs from the AP story. Hegseth called Brown unqualified solely because he's Black. Then they fired him... and replaced him with a white guy so indisputably unqualified that he requires a Presidential waiver. This is what "merit" means to them. apnews.com/article/trum...

The poster child for white male mediocrity, Pete Hegseth, is firing qualified Black men and women from the military.

Listen to @radiofreetom.bsky.social! "Now that Trump has captured the intelligence services, the Justice Department, and the FBI, the military is the last piece he needs to establish the foundations for authoritarian control of the U.S. government."

Alina Habba, who is ostensibly a lawyer, claims on Fox & Friends that Trump "made the law" with his executive orders (executive orders are not laws -- only Congress can make laws)

"We are getting lots of calls about Musk and lots of calls thanking me for sticking up for Ukraine..." www.wsj.com/politics/pol...

So let's get this straight: The U.S. and Elon are now extorting Ukraine and threatening to turn off their Starlink Internet access unless they give their critical rare earth minerals to the United States? Staggering levels of corruption.

If someone wanted to destroy the United States from within, would they do anything differently than what Trump is doing right now?

It’s a cult.

How does firing Americans help make America great again? Cutting 5-8% of the workers is unproductive and harmful to our economy and society. This is just simply reckless and unsustainable. www.cnn.com/2025/02/21/p...

In the Senate, I proposed blocking tax breaks for people who make over $10 million a year. Every Republican voted no. Republicans then refused to rule out tax breaks for people who make over $100 million. And $500 million. Is ANYONE too rich to get a giveaway from the GOP?

We asked Senate Republicans: is there any millionaire or billionaire rich enough who doesn't need another tax giveaway? $10M a year? No. $100M a year? No. $500M a year? No. $1 BILLION a year? No. With Republicans in control: Billionaires win, families lose.

The Trump-Vance-Musk regime is not only undermining democracy in the US. It is laying the foundation for undermining democracies around the world. The emerging battle will be global democracy vs. a global oligarchy. The US is emerging on the side of global oligarchy.

Trump's plan to cut Office of Community Planning and Development staff by 84% will cripple North Carolina's ability to rebuild homes and support businesses in the wake of Hurricane Helene. (1/2)

This is absolutely disgusting.

I’m telling you @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social, please watch this. This is the energy. Not egg prices and book tours and strongly worded letters. It’s time to take the gloves off.

Medicaid is not for sale. NASA is not for sale. The Post Office is not for sale. America is not for sale. We have an obligation to resist kings. We outnumber them. And they can be overwhelmed.

"This is something that does not belong to the president or the White House. It belongs to the American people.” www.washingtonpost.com/business/202...

TRUMP: The NCAA has complied immediately. That's good. But I understand Maine -- is the governor of Maine here? JANET MILLS: Yeah I'm here TRUMP: Are you not gonna comply? JM: I'm going to comply with state and federal law T: You better do it bc you're not gonna get any federal funding at all

It's no coincidence that Musk's companies are soaring in value as the regulatory agencies that were investigating or suing them are being gutted. The DOGE agenda isn't about "efficiency" — it's about Musk freeing himself from any accountability so he can line his pockets.

TRUMP: You have a man who has let a country that had the more beautiful cities get demolished. The most beautiful domes. FOX: But that's Russia's fault, Mr President T: 1,000 year old domes. Everything is demolished. It's sorta like Gaza F: That's Putin's fault T: I get tired of listening to it

The FDIC protects your hard earn money in the bank and helps prevent another financial crash. Trump and Musk’s move to fire these workers is dangerous. I led Senate Democrats in pushing back, and now independent investigators are on the case.

A small government team at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, responsible for regulating autonomous cars—which Elon Musk claims are the future of Tesla—is being cut nearly in half by Musk. Conflict of interest?

Just as Nero fiddled while Rome burned, Trump golfs while working Americans grapple with the chaos of rising prices and a billionaire dismantling the federal government from within. How's the new golden age working out for you? www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...

Holy crap. At his town hall last night, Rep. Rich McCormick compared *his own constituents* who asked him tough and fair questions to January 6 insurrectionists

Budgets are statements of priorities, and Republicans have made theirs clear: unlimited funds for corruption and political games, but zero accountability. If they refuse to answer to Congress, why should we help them fund their shady operations? No oversight, no deal on March 14.

The Trump admin’s decision to end telehealth services for Medicare will only make it harder for seniors, people with disabilities, and rural communities to access the care they need. This horrible decision will cost lives and make Americans less healthy. www.medicare.gov/coverage/tel...

REP. RICH McCORMICK: When you talk about presidential power, I remember having the same discussion with Republicans when Biden was elected TOWN HALL CROWD: *Noooooooooooo!*

"Pardoning political loyalists, whose convicted conduct would otherwise fall on the extreme end of the category of so-called “violent criminals” he aims to punish, makes clear that the Trump admin is only performatively concerned with public safety." Read more ⤵️

At the Federal Bureau of Investigation, anxiety around officials possibly targeting officers and activities perceived as being disloyal to the president has cratered morale, a federal law enforcement source with knowledge of the agents' concerns tells WIRED. The FBI declined to comment.

I guess Trump’s Special Envoy doesn’t agree with him that Zelensky is a corrupt, incompetent dictator. Pretty schizophrenic foreign policy.

This is like opposing a joint resolution declaring that the Sun sets in the West America doesn’t just look like an idiot here, we look like goddamn Flat Earthers

🚨NEW: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is planning to fire Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff C.Q. Brown, a 4-Star General and 41-year veteran of the Air Force who flew over 130 hours in combat as a fighter pilot. REPOST if you stand with General C.Q. Brown against Hegseth!

This.

Holy shit! You’ve got to see this town hall. Republicans are starting to get torn apart by their own constituents. Rep. Rich McCormick: “You don’t think I’m going to stand up for you?” Woman in the crowd: “You need to stand up.” Another woman: “Don’t bend over.” 🔥

Here's video of Steve Bannon doing a Sieg Heil today at CPAC. It is what it is and it's what Bannon intended. Don't let yourself be gaslit.

Reminder that a month ago Politico did a puffy soft focus interview with Steve Bannon, who today literally threw up a Nazi salute at CPAC. Inexcusably terrible editorial judgment at the time and looks even worse now.

The Senate just voted on a simple idea: If you make $1 BILLION in a year, you don't deserve a tax handout. Democrats voted yes. Republicans voted no. Republicans are planning huge tax cuts for the rich, but they’re not the ones who need a break — working people do.

I'm a huge fan of Dolly Parton. We're the same age and same height, but she can sing better. We also share the same values, including that every child should have the chance to dream big and succeed. Indiana Republicans should reverse these cuts. www.huffpost.com/entry/indian...

NEW: While Elon Musk and his underlings demand budget cuts and layoffs across the federal government, funding for the agency they operate — the Department of Government Efficiency — has soared to some $40 million, ProPublica found.

He's mad his lies about Ukraine were fact-checked by his own website so he wants to change the fact-checking system

"Elon Musk is the undisputed champion of making money for Elon Musk. As effectively the CEO of the United States of America? Very bad. Embarrassing, honestly..." www.wired.com/story/doge-i...

When FAA employees are telling us it’s not safe to fly, we should probably listen.

just wait until the February bloodbath jobs numbers hit. 📉📉📉
