I used vague entries from my journal to create my email to OPM.

I’m reading an exuberant book of poetry: Razzle Dazzle by Major Jackson. When I want a moment of snappy language, I read one poem. It’s like a tiny vacation.

County Executive Sara Innamorato is going to help refugees since Trump won’t. Keep up the great work! www.wesa.fm/politics-gov...

I have olive bread from 5 Points Bakery in Pittsburgh. My only challenge is: I want to eat the whole loaf this afternoon. 🍞

12:30 on Sunday in Squirrel Hill. I’m seeing if I can be there.

Rep. Summer Lee is having a Town Hall on her Facebook page @ 6:00 pm tonight. (Feb 20th) @summerlee.bsky.social

“There is an ongoing coup.” I’m speaking up. How are you standing up for our democracy?

In the 80’s, it felt like every bad guy on TV was a Russian. I keep thinking: McGyver would be so disappointed to know our president is a Russian flunky.

I’ve been thinking a lot about my time working at the federal government. For 2 years, I worked with a blind business owner, a soft spoken electrician, a grouch, some very smart and stylish new moms and a person who was so careful about avoiding bribes she wouldn’t accept a sheet of stickers.

I am going to go to sleep and dream of an American where everyone is fed and safe and free to make the best decisions for themselves. Tomorrow I will again work on making it a reality. Get some rest.

On March 25th, there is a Special Election for the 35th district of PA. Dan Goughnour of McKeesport is the Democratic nominee. This election will decide control of the PA House. Encourage anyone who lives in McKeesport to vote, and help the Democrats get out the word!

I attended the Protest/March in Downtown Pittsburgh at 12:00 today. Nearly everything good about this country is being destroyed by Trump’s government. In the cold weather of this afternoon, I was proud to be with some of the people who are working to keep us ALL alive and free.

I hope to be at this protest in Pittsburgh.

Dave Sunday, the Pa State Attorney General, has turned off his voicemail for the weekend. This is new. Better believe I will call during business hours and complain about that AND the issue I was calling about.

Because I wear a rainbow pin everyday to symbolize my support of LGBTQIA people, my best friend decided she wanted to put a rainbow pin on her handbag. And now my husband wants to put a rainbow pin on his bag. The small actions do matter!

Frickin’ fantastic article. It’s time to show the fascists we mean business.

I’ve learned 97 Spanish words! Just from a few weeks on Duolingo. I feel accomplished.

At My Library: A guy in the computer hall is making angry grunting sounds every few minutes. His computer work is making him furious, and everyone in three rooms knows about it.

This is good info for us Pennsylvanians to know.

Good to see this lawsuit. My school library helped me become a reader. Kids need more book options, not less.

I highly recommend The Maid and the Crocodile by Jordan Ifueko. It’s a fantasy novel that is somehow cozy and political. It has big magic but at the same time it is interested in the value of an ordinary life.

If you or someone you know had their loans forgiven during Biden’s administration, check your loan status. I know someone whose loan showed back up. And there are posts on Reddit of similar things happening - so this is not an isolated incident.

I just called my national representatives and told them to fight like hell. I used this post as a template for my script. For the rep who is fighting, I thanked her and encouraged her to continue.

Today I wore a goose pin with a rainbow flag. My shoe salesman complimented me on it, and said “Thanks for supporting my community.”

Yep. This is what I’m saying to myself at least 3 times a day. Just less eloquently and with more swear words.

Good dates to add to your calendar, Pennsylvania!

Besides AOC, can you tell me who in our national government is loudly protesting the horrible executive orders from the past 2 weeks? Can be reps or Senators. I’m pretty desperate for more national leadership.

I finished “The Fire Next Time” by James Baldwin. It’s full of such wisdom. He understood that we are all equal, not better or worse. And he understood how few people were working on equality. I’m so glad I read it.
