Today, I had the absolute privilege of sharing my 50-year physiotherapy career journey with students @unibirmingham.bsky.social as part of their career day. From sitting on a wall outside my student digs in Bristol, navigating the aftermath of Enoch Powell's 'Rivers of Blood' speech

Such a beautiful morning for #parkrun. It was a little icy, so I really slowed the pace and opted for volunteering.πŸ˜… There's always a place for everyone @parkrunUK

Today, it was very cold but this 70 year old ran 6.17(9.9km) miles in 58m.46s. Why am I posting this? Just hoping to motivate others to get active and to stay active. I know the motivation I get from others is invaluable so, let's go!

5 hours physical activity today.πŸ’ͺ🏾🦡🏿πŸ’ͺ🏾 Definitely not a normal day, but delighted that at age 70, I can: walk half an hour, do a 1hr body attack class, followed by 1hr pilates, then walk another half an hour back home and then do 2hrs clearing and bagging leaves.πŸƒπŸΏβ€β™€οΈπŸŒΏπŸŒΏ #moveitorloseit #enjoyageing

I am seeing that #Thanksgiving has not put off a lot of people from continuing with their physical activity regimes. Celebrations can be, and should always be built into our health and wellbeing lifestyles. Happy Thanksgiving to all those celebrating! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

Today’s physical activity – a 30 min walk to beginner’s tennis for a diverse group of inner city women and 30min walk back home.πŸŽΎπŸšΆπŸΎβ€β™€οΈ Also, feeling really energised by all the amazing people who have started to follow me through their enthusiasm for physical activity. πŸ™πŸΎ

⏳ One of the biggest challenges is time. Between work, family, and other commitments, squeezing in a workout can seem impossible. But remember, even small amounts of physical activity can make a big difference. #healthylifestyle

Am I the only one who chickened out of #parkrun because it was pouring with rain? πŸ˜‚ Perhaps, the stoics out there can offer some words of encouragement that will get me out there, no matter how heavy the rainfall.

Did you know you can also WALK at #parkrun? Regular walking with others improves blood pressure, heart rate, cholesterol, physical functioning and emotional health (Hanson & Jones 2015). Every parkrun event as a volunteer "tail walker" who will stay at the back of the pack with the walkers. -
