I am putting some distance between myself and social media right now. Not because I want to ignore what's happening but because I need to focus on where I can make the most positive impact. For me, it's in my classroom and through my work.

Uhm, okay. Just had a spooky black mirror experience. Can someone explain this:

I was commissioned by a friend to do the cover for her book, and she just announced it officially yesterday. Here is the cover and a process shot. I did the cityscape with marker and gouache. It was my first time getting into gouache as well.

I hit my self-imposed deadline. Now I can work at a slightly less frantic, but still somewhat harried pace.

Big industrial environments happening. Lots of cubes and tubes.

Comics fam, I’m going to be looking to hire a colorist for a graphic novel I’m working on likely in mid to late January. If you have availability in early 2025, hit me up.

I told my editor that I would have 20 pages finished in two weeks. Why did I do that! 💀💀💀

I am experimenting with some digital screentones I made from security envelope patterns. So far, I am really happy with the results and will probably compile the patterns i have for others to use. That being said, if you get an envelope with a really cool pattern on the inside, send it to me!

Class, over. Grades, done. Time to get inking

I made a comics teachers starter pack! Cartoonists who teach and people who teach comics! Comics teachers I missed, let me know if you're one! of! us! one! of! us! go.bsky.app/GErh5eD

I started this over the summer with the intention of setting a higher standard for myself with commissions. But I set it down and didn't pick it back up for months 😫

Like everyone else, I was lured into watching the Tyson-Paul fight for the sweet chance of Mike knocking his lights out. Instead, I feel like we got a dystopian act from a certain red-hat supporting rich boy coaxing an aging athlete into a ploy for content creation.

General life update: At the beginning of this year, I was working a more corporate position that was really warping my outlook on my art career. I had been aiming for a teaching role within the same institution for quite some time and was finally offered a chance to interview.

I drew a Pyramidhead Miku for a screentone demo for class. We drew character costume swaps for a halloween zine, I also made the cover. I slowly feel myself falling in love with drawing again 😭

I SMUDGED. TWICE! AAARRRRGGGFHHHSKAMAJFNGM

I'm back, guys. What'd I miss?

My latest graphic novel came out last month! To be honest, I've been a bit too distracted to share or be excited about it (I haven't even gotten my own copies yet) but it really does look great! My friend, Sienna, provided the colors and it looks incredible!

X-Files music

This is the only thing I've been able to draw in a month, and it's a conceptualization of myself as a muppet.

She likes it when I do this.

I know I have a full-time job, a gn contract, and some pitches on the backburner, but what if I ALSO made a tarot card deck? 🤔
