Just look at this little box baby.

You would think GPT-4.5 is better than Claude Sonnet 3.7 based on 4.5 > 3.7, but you have to remember that LLMs don’t know how to count.

How badly I wish for this to be true.

This post by @simon makes a very smart point about hallucinations, but the best part might be this section at the end, full of helpful tips that most people generally have to learn through trial and error. https://simonwillison.net/2025/Mar/2/hallucinations-in-code/

They call it Github when you access it from the terminal, and Guithb in the browser.

I may be old, but back in my day this was just called Instagram. https://www.engadget.com/apps/flashes-an-instagram-alternative-based-on-bluesky-is-available-for-iphones-now-205946754.html

Colleen’s been working on a little scarf for Maiori all week. Don’t trust the photo, Maiori hates it.

Lately I’ve been fooling around in Claude more, asking it to generate creative inspo like this, and seeing what comes out. https://claude.site/artifacts/45b97bab-bc08-4d25-b8cf-be3ab05f2c91

This is undoubtedly my favorite David Bowie story.

Hardware was a mistake, software doubly so.

I like to keep my day balanced. 😌 I start off by reading the worst things I that happened overnight, am focused and productive in the afternoon, and wind down my night by reading the worst things that happened during that day.

Claude's app is not only a mediocre user experience, it lacks basic features — like being able to get a link to your chat, so you can revisit it later. I desperately want this app to improve, but the inclusion of a bad Artifacts interface aside, this app hasn't gotten better since launch.

None of these words are in the bible.

Apple communities were much more fun to hang out in when Apple was building innovative products, rather than shipping one rent-seeking app after another to pad their services revenue.

I'm literally getting dressed and watching Hulu while Claude is creating a documentation site for Plinky — the future of software development is wild. Obviously I'll edit the docs myself, but the fact that it can spin up all of the scaffolding and do meaningful work is absolutely wild.

1/4 I’ve been working very hard for the last two months on the latest @plinky.app update, with two big features: Link Reminders & Pinned Folders and Tags. These features have been so useful to me, and have struck a chord with beta testers, so I’d love to tell you a bit more about why […]

It’s almost time to stop posting about AI and switch topics… just gotta get home to my computer.

Claude Code is coming for Aider. With access to the Claude & entire MCP ecosystem, it’s hard to see why I would choose another option. https://docs.anthropic.com/en/docs/agents-and-tools/claude-code/overview

Guess it’s time that time of the quarter where I resubscribe to Claude. https://www.anthropic.com/news/claude-3-7-sonnet

I almost feel wasteful using o3-mini-high to completely rebuild Plinky's blog, but it's working so damn well that I don't want to switch to a less resource intensive model.

We're still in the pods, but this season of Love Is Blind is so bland. They really cast 11 generic-looking guys with names like Ben and two oncology nurses who I couldn't pick out of a lineup — how are you supposed to get any drama from that?

The AI feature I most want on iOS is the ability to highlight some text and have ChatGPT answer a question about it — like what TFP means in this context. (I know the answer now, so no need to tell me.) Integrations that are forced to sit within the app model will never be seamless enough.

People are always saying this, I hear it all the time.

I know the fighting in Cobra Kai is all choreographed, but it still fucking whips.

I don’t understand why, but Maiori HATES red pandas. (Not great since I love red pandas enough to have named my company Red Panda Club.) I brought back a new red panda toy for her from Columbus, to prevent her from destroying all of my other red panda toys, and she absolutely wants to end its life.

Are they really this dumb or did they generate their response with AI? Tune in to find out at 11.

At least the Humane AI Pin will still be a beautiful pin you can wear, when it’s bricked next week. https://support.humane.com/hc/en-us/articles/34374173951373-Important-Update-for-Consumer-Ai-Pin-Customers

Maiori really missed me while I was away. 🥲

Hmm, sure, great answer.

Are you a view model? Cause you’re way too pretty to be a regular view.

The more surprising news is that HP still has enough money to acquire a company. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-02-18/hp-116-million-deal-for-humane-includes-ip-but-no-ai-pin-device

Why is the new ChatGPT 4o soooo slow? At first I thought it was a UI quirk that I was imagining, but then I realized I used to not be able to keep up with the words as they streamed in, now I find myself constantly waiting for the model to finish its message.

Why is half the internet like this now? Adding insult to injury, tapping View in app takes me to the App Store to open an app I already have on my phone. But of course it doesn’t remember where I came from, so I can’t even see the content Reddit so desperately wants me to view in their app.

My anxiety-riddled brain is panicking so hard about getting on a plane tomorrow… https://www.nytimes.com/2025/02/17/world/canada/delta-toronto-plane-crash.html

This honestly feels like a parody of an ad for the Metaverse. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DGG2sXLsEPi

What idiot called it SwiftUI rather than Springs and Structs?

Thinking about apps today

Sat down at the airport ready for my flight to what I would playfully describe as a “three day hackathon with a friend”, only to discover that I left my computer at home. 🙃🙃🙃

When I think woke, I think Comcast. https://www.theverge.com/news/610655/fcc-comcast-dei-investigation-brendan-carr

As Valentine’s Day approaches, I decided to make a list of links I’ve saved in Plinky about love. Each of them tells a different story about love — whether that’s the little gestures people make to show their love, or how people find love in the most difficult of circumstances. ❤️ […]
