The US people chose their government, house, senate, president. The US people abandoned their allies with this vote. There is no reason for us to feel bad about protecting our own interests by walking away from a relationship that was deliberately broken by the majority of Americans. #AusPol

Peter Dutton is being misleading by omission. He fails to mention that the Reserve Bank didn't put our rates up as high in the first place. The US Fed funds rate peaked at 5.38%, the BoC’s at 5.00%, the RBNZ’s at 5.50% and the BoE’s at 5.25%. (Saul Eslake) Our rate peaked at 4.35%. #auspol

The Reserve Bank punished the Labor government as long as it could, today they ran out of rationalisations. We can criticise this government for many things, but they’ve certainly been a steady hand on the economic tiller, with no help from the RBA and no recognition from our media. #AusPol

On insurance, Dutton is talking through his hat. Breaking up big insurers isn't the answer as the issue isn't competition, it's risk. And to combat this, you either need govt support or a sufficiently large capital base to spread the risk, so this isn't a market for lots of small players. #auspol

Looks like those “locals” heckling Albo on the NSW coast re wind farms were Liberal rent-a-crowd sycophants & not genuine residents. What you see on the news, media & SM sources regarding any harassment of Albo & Labor in the lead up to the election should be regarded with skepticism & suspicion

so… I am going to test drive an #Insiders thread on BSky this morning. Obviously I would rather be watching @theshot.net.au and will catch up after, compare topics and time allocation, and post some data. My working hypothesis is that the ABC skews wildly zionist and we all deserve better.
