On 3/13/2020, I was about to start tutoring at a school where I’d been subbing occasionally. I had an initial session set up with a student after school and we were planning to keep it even though they were “extending spring break” a week early and wouldn’t be back the next Monday.

Home alone with the pup all week. It surprises me how hard this feels these days. I don’t expect to feel sad when I’m alone for a few evenings yet here we are. Also, I’m very ready for more hours of daylight, that makes a difference.

Got to see Jimmy Carter speak when I was living in Minnesota during the 2004 election. He and Rosalynn were there together. They walked in through the auditorium, right by my seat. You could just feel how special they were, how the whole room knew we were in the presence of greatness.

I took no pictures of the meal I ate tonight but it was a truly joyful culinary experience at Tableau in NOLA. Gulf fish almondine, blue crab fondue, gulf shrimp salad, truffled crab claws, sticky toffee pudding, French 75 with cognac. Best of all, the BFF who I rarely get to see. The best.
