Fort Point is on Point! Seriously though! I didn't expect such a great #NationalPark hiding below an international landmark. A lot of great history and experience of it! Little one loved the stone and iron staircases as well as exploring.

Went to the Tractor Museum in Woodland with the small one today! Seriously fascinating to see how we've harvested crops over the last century and a half. Sadly, due to lease issues, the museum is closing at the end of the month. It's free and great for families :'(

New career achievement unlocked: had to change algorithm parameters not to cooendice with human heart beat rhythms.

TIL Pull Requests have a number of different branches associated with them behind the scenes. Sometimes this causes when you reformat in a Github Action.

Beautiful 2.7 mile hike in Stebbon's Cold Canyon reserve. Little made it the whole way under their own power and back pack!

TIL on #github you can hide contributions to your organization, even from members of the organization. I can see some social engineering vectors sure, but now I'm looking at my sad contribution graph! github.com/meschbach

Went to the railroad museum today! Always a great time, especially when coupled with an adventure in Old Sacramento! #trains #bridges

Quickly gets into the problem those who prevent problems have: how do you prove your impact by a lack of visible things?

I learned how to tighten the cones on the rear hub of my bike at the Davis Bike Collective this evening! Along with making the whole surrounding assembly awesome! The best part of my older kid helped me do it! #bike #repair #parenting #win

Successfully navigate to the Mun with a decent payload of fuel. Let's see how many times I crash before landing! Bright side is my littlest cracks up at the explosions every time! #ksp #orbital #mechanics

Started playing Trine 4 with a friend. Reminds me of old DOS side scrollers but my friend can actually play with me!

Pairing helps #programmers articulate how they approach a system and the manner in which they express them!

Always amazed at the art of building models, regardless of the media. #model #trains

Good rundown on how one would implement #python `asyncio` in a quick talk. Briefly talks about methods of computation and why before fully diving into a how. youtu.be/MCs5OvhV9S4?...

Started the video to learn about a new method to cook eggs. Stayed to learn about science grants. youtu.be/ahGGanfPDJw?...

First thermal-mechanical failure and repair on my diy outdoor weather station! #iot #diy #problems

Finally finished decomissioning my Raspberry Pi 4 as a control-plane in my #kubernetes cluster! I did not find any references on how to approach it, so hopefully someone finds it useful! soc.meschbach.com/posts/2025/0...

Attempted to have 3 instead of 4 control plane nodes in my home #kubernetes cluster. Caused more problems than having an even number of nodes.

Played Wii Fit with the family tonight. Forgot not good that game is! Is it retro gaming yet if it's from 14 years ago? #gaming #Nintendo #retro

#Lizards stare off into the world, unblinking. From a human perspective it's un-nerving and strange. I wonder if #cats feel the same way about us? Sure, we blink more often. Not as a sign of affection or communication though.

We hooked up our #xbox360 #kinnect tonight! Still janky detection :-D. Any tips on making it less janky? #gaming #troubleshooting

I've heard #scientists have to test worse than GLaDoS . You might spot them in the back alleys sciencing. It's best to back away slowly. Many are harmless like computer scientists. However, some, like neurologist might experiment on randos passing by.

When I'm a #product-owner it's always tempting to say "why doesn't it function like before" when large pieces are changing under the hood. I always have to take a breath and trust my team is doing the right thing.

I finally got a rocket to the Mun in Kerbal Space Program. Unfortunately I had insufficient fuel for my adventure. Resulting in the regretful loss of three Kerbals when fuel ran out on decent. #gaming #achievement
