A barred spiral galaxy, possibly merging, observed with the Hubble Space Telescope in the COSMOS survey. It is at redshift 0.18 (lookback time 2.30 billion years) with coordinates (150.74612, 2.34301). 47 volunteers classified this galaxy in Galaxy Zoo: Hubble.

I attended a meeting: "Recovery plan for Ukrainian astronomy" organized by @unileiden.bsky.social @astro4dev.bsky.social It was great to interact with Ukrainian astronomers, learn about their science and challenges. I look forward to fostering new collaborations in both the Netherlands and Poland.

Ridin' solo 💫 A single member of a galaxy pair takes centre stage in this NASA/ESA Hubble image. The galaxy NGC 3507 is classified as a barred spiral because the galaxy’s sweeping spiral arms emerge from the ends of a central bar of stars rather than the central point of the galaxy.
