The Genetic History of Rome, with Hannah Moots www.medievalists.net/2025/01/the-... #Podcast

It is my immense privilege to share this particular proofs day! For @platanoclassics.bsky.social and I’s chapter! Will be happy to share when it’s appropriate to do so!

Popped down to the Kalamazoo Valley Museum this morning to catch the Ray Harryhausen exhibit. Got to meet Bubo the Owl and all the models from the original Clash of the Titans and Jason & the Argonauts. Of course I wore my Attacker “Armor of the Gods” shirt for the occasion. It was a real hoot!

✨ proofs day ✨ for God, Slavery, and Early Christianity! I’m thrilled that the dissertation-turned-book will be out in the world some time this fall, and hope that folks enjoy wading through hundreds of pages about the Shepherd, slavery, spirit possession, and the formation of Christian ethics.

The Cleveland Museum of Art will display the ancient bronze Draped Male Figure one last time before returning it to Turkey. Once thought to depict Marcus Aurelius, the statue was linked to looting from Bubon. On view through July 8 after a legal settlement. buff.ly/ASAXj90

More working, less basking now. I am looking at this bronze die with a woman's name on it - Tullia Tacita' and wondering whether anyone has done any research on it already.
