🤩 brilliant scientists elegantly achieving clinical impact for epilepsy through neuroimaging & AI ⬇️ Huge congrats @sophieadlerwagstyl.bsky.social @konradwagstyl.bsky.social and team !

Very thankful to have played a tiny part in this study showing potential for cortical surface deep learning for epilepsy surgical planning

Very pleased to officially introduce MELD Graph, a novel AI tool for the detection of subtle focal cortical dysplasia (FCD) lesions in epilepsy patients. Check out our paper published in JAMA Neurology yesterday! 😀https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamaneurology/fullarticle/2830410

🚀 Hi friends! I’m exploring new opportunities in Data Science, Healthcare, Tech Development, or Policy. Both in industry and academia! If you hear of roles where I can contribute, please keep me in mind. Referrals, advice, or intros are deeply appreciated. 🙏 Let’s connect!

So incredibly proud to announce that @dahansimon.bsky.social work on designing surface deep learning models that can generalize fMRI encoding/decoding across individuals and to unseen stimuli will be presented at #ICLR2025. I really think these can be game changing for dynamic fMRI modeling.

🗓️ Don't miss our next FIT'NG Together talk on February 4th at 11 am EST! Profs. López Bendito and Lohmann will discuss synaptic plasticity, neural circuits, network dynamics, and brain maturation, highlighting the role of spontaneous activity 🧠🐭 Register at: fitng.org/fitng-togeth...

2 days left to register your medical deep learning papers for MIDL!

Genius 🤣🤣🤣

2024 was the first full calendar year for Imaging Neuroscience @mitpress - 350 papers published. We're proud of how the brain imaging community enthusiastically embraced open access non-profit publishing. Our aim is to be *your* journal. Full size PDF: drive.google.com/file/d/1M170...

Mapping neuropeptide signaling in the human brain | doi.org/10.1101/2024... Neuropeptides are among the functionally diverse signaling molecules in the brain and body. @cebric.bsky.social curates an atlas of neuropeptide receptors and relates it brain function 🧩 🧠 ⤵️

Our study of genes, brains and #DYSLEXIA in over 30,000 adults from @ukbiobank.bsky.social is now published: www.science.org/doi/10.1126/... Brain regions especially involved in motor, language and vision functions are associated with genetic disposition to dyslexia. Thread below ⬇️ 1/8

🤣

Need cortical surface extraction which is time efficient while being more anatomically correct than classic pipelines? Try Qiang Ma's pipeline - tuned for neonatal (dHCP) but we are already using it for fetal and works on ya HCP arxiv.org/abs/2405.08783 github.com/m-qiang/dhcp...

Lolz

I thought this was the conclusion of the original BWAS paper? Either way it's both imaging pipelines (specifically driving features from population average atlases) and noisy target phenotypes

Thank you to Prof Bishop @deevybee.bsky.social for taking this important stand 👇 “Oxford scientist resigns from Royal Society over Elon Musk’s continuing fellowship” www.theguardian.com/technology/2...

Interested in joining the MELD Project or trying out the tools for FCD or HS detection? Come chat to us #aes2024 after the presidential symposium or at the posters! @konradwagstyl.bsky.social

While I'm recommending books (starting with my own, of course 😋), here's a thread of some others I've enjoyed recently! 📚😊

Trying my hand at a start pack, to hopefully get the convos going! Let me know if you'd like to be added, or if there are better starter packs out there on this. go.bsky.app/GRuA2a

🌟 New Research Alert! 🌟 Excited to share our latest work (accepted to NeurIPS2024) on understanding working memory in multi-task RNN models using naturalistic stimuli!: with @takuito.bsky.social and @bashivan.bsky.social #tweeprint below:

Interesting - but where is the discussion about improving the sensitivity of the brain imaging phenotypes that we are comparing in these studies? As well as deeper phenotyping of the behavioural traits?

Great conversations with @ndosenbach.bsky.social while preparing this Nature News & Views on the new Kang et al. Ready to have the same with everyone here. Thoughts? What other practice should be investigated to help BWAS reproducibility? www.nature.com/articles/d41...
