Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau chimed in online after Canada beat the United States in the 4 Nations Face-Off final. đź”— www.nytimes.com/athletic/liv...

Great piece - 💯 agree on strengthening military & diplomatic capacity. 🇨🇦 resilience demands both. I would add that Canada should immediately open our borders to the 1000s of US scientists (especially in the health & clean energy sectors) who will soon be looking for a more hospitable workplace.

Oh, you bought a house? Well I wrote 600 words that i'm thinking of deleting

The President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella gave a speech for the ages today in Marseille, one that should resonate across the globe. I hope it's gonna be translated into English

oh that’s not— well ok i guess that works too

what elon musk has pushed to the top of my X feed: conspiracy theories pitting blame - w/ no black box info yet released - on the one female pilot (of 3) onboard the blackhawk helicopter last week. specifically for the crime of being a woman. pure evil. i am so, so sorry, captain lobach

Trudeau 🇨🇦 “Toronto Police and the (Canada) Border Services Agency just seized about 835 kilograms of cocaine coming in from the United States into Canada via Mexican cartels.” Canada is responsible for less than 1% of illegal drugs going into the U.S. and less than 1% of migrants. #cdnpoli #peipoli

Nawaf Salam, the head of the International Court of Justice, won enough support to become Lebanon's next prime minister after a majority of lawmakers backed him for the post, a big blow to Hezbollah which accused opponents of working to exclude it reut.rs/40vtVWi

i listen to world news from both european + north american platforms. quite alarming to hear greenland discourse shifting from 'haha what' to 'hear me out' within days - with networks on one side of the atlantic blatantly entertaining the prospect of violating core tenets of intl law with no 'but's

so many layers to this headline but i am stuck at the arsenal of bright yellow fleur de lys waterbombers i am only just learning about

If you are seeing the awful wildfire images and feel compelled to do something, Pasadena Humane takes in pets for emergency boarding and are now preparing to evacuate themselves.

Good piece. “America didn’t invent human rights; in a very real sense, human rights invented America.” -Jimmy Carter, farewell address www.nytimes.com/2024/12/30/o...

Several Italian media today speculate that Sala might have been arrested not because of her work while in Iran - rather, she might be retaliation for the arrest in Italy, three days before hers, of a Iranian-Swiss national what was wanted by the US because suspected of being a drone trafficker

Big news. Canada reverses its refusal to exercise universal jurisdiction & has charged an alleged ISIS fighter, Ahmed Eldidi, w war crimes. Eldidi is an ideal universal jurisdiction case, based on open source evidence. For background & more: opencanada.org/its-time-to-... + www.cbc.ca/amp/1.7411669

i know this letter may not seem very aggressive to most but if translated to Canadian it is as biting as a multi-generational blood curse

very sad but also wow i had completely forgotten about the fake brazilian intern saga… a scooby doo plotline for the ages

France has a warrant out for Bashar al-Assad’s arrest. The primary legal argument against the warrant (albeit one that had thus far failed in the French courts) had been that he was Syria’s sitting head of state. That argument terminates w/ his presidency. www.justiceinitiative.org/newsroom/fre...
