All I can say is if you are deeply sad and angry right now, get into your community. Get involved in something. Go follow someone who does community work into whatever they do and do SOMETHING. Your church, your neighborhood, your family, wherever you can in whatever way you can.

Race animates a lot of ICE/CBP, but I can't stress enough how—as with all law enforcement—a key factor is sheer *laziness*. They're not tracking down drug gangs, they're going for the easiest targets they can find. Official hearings (citizenship, court, etc) are fish in a barrel to run numbers up.

It took seeing adult bullies to understand that my childhood bullies didn’t even really want to hurt me, they just wanted to feel powerful and how I felt about it wasn’t even in the equation. I can’t imagine someone not outgrowing that, but apparently it happens quite a lot!

I guess this needs to be said because of rumors going around, but Christianity Today did not receive USAID funds. Per our CEO, what's on our public filings is an application for an employee retention tax credit, which many other orgs did for COVID. (and which we have not received)
