At a busy intersection in Quebec City this weekend, a woman (chewing loudly on a pastry) knocked on my car's window and said in English: "I heard what your governor said to that bully! Good woman!"

Celebrating her 30th in Quebec City, where she proposed over 7 years ago. Love of my life!

Don't buy shit, write your book

hello, good evening, my name is chen chen, i’m a poet, and you may know me from such poems as this, “i love you to the moon &”

Die más. Poem in the Shape of the Poet Beating Henry Kissinger to Death with Their Bare Hands by Felix. tacobellquarterly.org/poem-in-the-...

Big smile & sore legs courtesy of a weekend well spent in the woods!

Imposter syndrome is always a battle for me. Recently I thought about how I enter into conversations with the mindset, "I have to over-prepare, so I can convince (read: 'trick') them into thinking I'm qualified." Hoping to change that dialogue to: I will prepare so I can *show* that I am qualified.

may every trans child grow into a trans adult

Excited to be joining an incredible interdisciplinary team of feminist scholars and poets at #FemRhets2025, where we'll host a lively workshop on "Creative Activist Approaches to Archival Research." Hope to see some familiar faces there this summer!

Okay, I cannot recommend 5calls.org enough. Enter your address and it will find all your reps (federal and state). AND give you a list of issues to call about AND which reps to call about each of them AND a little script for each, in case it's helpful. They have an app, too.

If you haven't seen these amazing resources for writers created by @mattkendrick.bsky.social, check them out.

Queer plotless books "speak to queer ongoingness. Awake to the ways in which queer people have long carved new models for conducting life outside of heterosexual narratives, these books are invested in the ways one flips the script on the page, imposes one’s will, creates something new." #booksky !!

"because time is a plaything / and we are old years before we are young" 😮‍💨 Sitting with this line from Lawrence Bridges' poem, "Your Goddess Characteristics" in Sequestrum - Issue 42

Fresh snow. Nature documentary on mute. Instrumentals playing. Tea steeping. I am writing.

My Nana, Irene (on the right), passed away last week. She was 94. Nana taught home ec for years & raised 4 children. She was widowed when the kids were still young, but her strength never faltered. I think she was glad to know that I, too, want to teach. Nana's one wish for us: "Be happy."

With the announcement of a ceasefire, over 2 million Palestinians in Gaza have finally received the news that they have so steadfastly been waiting for. Liberation is not only possible, it is inevitable. Ceasefire today, liberation tomorrow.

good morning to this squirrel who dreams of flight

I will never cease to be amazed by books. Seriously. Just think about it; thousands of people read the same book, but in everyone’s brain’s the characters look different, the setting changes etc. We are all reading the same thing, but it's so unique to each of us. That is a beautiful thing.

I suggest reading *after* lunch or *before* dinner! Thanks for offering my #flash story a home @everydayfiction.bsky.social 🐸🪄

Always needing a reminder that I have something to say! "Whenever I’m feeling overwhelmed by the world at large or my own world, and I can’t write...I remind myself that the 'stuff' of my life is important to share [...] That I still have something to say." open.substack.com/pub/artoffla...

Some days you wait, and wait, and wait, and wait, but nothing ever happens then ALL your books on hold at the library come at once

Kicking off my presence on Bluesky with some good news! Received a flash fiction acceptance from @everydayfiction.bsky.social 🐸 Eager to share once it's posted!
