“Fascism isn't a mere difference of opinion, it's an active threat. Treat it accordingly.” I don’t disagree with this, but am troubled by how many people who are not committed fascists have trouble thinking critically about what fascists are saying, can’t recognize it as fascism, or see it’s wrong

One important difference being that the Republicans know how to harness the energy of their ultra-ideological flank, while the Democrats spend incredible amounts of energy and money trying to neutralize theirs.

Absolutely fascist targeting of journalists. If what a cop, ICE agent, or presidential administration is doing is so self evidently just and great, no need exists to shut down coverage. Fascists are cowards. They talk a big game but their actions look like shame responses.
