The people of Hong Kong deserve the freedom and democracy that they have long fought for. Alongside my Lib Dem colleagues I have called on the Govt to take steps to protect Hong Kongers in the U.K. from transnational oppression by the CCP. edm.parliament.uk/early-day-mo...

Transphobes: we DON'T just hate trans people! We just want to protect women! Also transphobes:

I just wanted to say a public thank you to everybody who voted for me and the Lib Dems on Thursday. I’d also like to thank our amazing team of volunteers. We didn’t beat Reform this time but we grew our support and pushed Labour into 4th. We will keep working for Morley!

While I appreciate all coverage of Morley, it does feel a bit odd to do a vox pop here literally the day before an election and just not mention it?? @robynvinter.bsky.social @theguardian.com

Stop Reform UK have named me and the Liberal Democrats as the tactical choice to stop Reform in Morley South! This is a big challenge but we are fighting as hard as we can! stopreformuk.vote/local/leeds/...

Conservatism is the opposite of liberalism. “Liberal conservatives” are a kind of post thatcher invention that emerged after the wets were purged and in response the historic weakness of the liberal party. We need a strong Liberal Democrat party to champion liberalism not some cosplaying Tories.

Ordered a martini in a bar and they brought three small fresh unpitted olives in a bowl of ice and I had no idea how to treat these little unsalted bullets so my drink went tragically ungarnished I’m so confused. Can somebody explain if I’m going mad? What was I supposed to have done?

Only the Lib Dems can stop Reform 🔶💪➡️ In council by-elections since May, the other parties have collapsed. Want to beat Reform? Join ALDC and the Lib Dems

I had basically decided that solar on new build was blindingly obvious in like 2005. It’s only got progressively more obvious since then. It really is staggering that it’s taken another 20 years for Labour to catch up.

This result sees the Liberal Democrats GAIN Wokingham Council from No Overall Control (was already a Lib Dem minority).

You can read a statement from me and all the other candidates in next week’s Morley South by-election here:

Maybe its too obvious to say that £15bn is less than Crossrail alone cost. Instead, I just want to highlight how breathtakingly unambitious this spending is. Labour said they want growth more than anything but then try to stimulate growth with new buses in St Helens! www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

We’ve gone from 25% steel tariffs, to 0%, up to 50%, and now back to 25%. We’ve all seen this routine before. Trump causes chaos, Nigel nods along, and British workers pay the price. It’s time the government got serious about trade with our European and Commonwealth allies.

Latest YouGov Westminster voting intention (1-2 June) Ref: 28% (-1 from 26-27 May) Lab: 22% (+1) Con: 18% (-1) Lib Dem: 17% (+2) Green: 9% (-2) SNP: 3% (+1) yougov.co.uk/topics/polit...

We had a successful day canvassing around Morley today. We have a by-election coming up and the Lib Dems are working as hard as we can. I’m pleased to say we are getting a very positive response on the doorstep but we’ll keep going until the polls close next Thursday!

terfs are pivoting just as we always said they would. @zoejardiniere.bsky.social

Useful that this is, at last, starting to be exposed in the UK media. Trans and non-binary folk have been at the brunt of this deluge of money and media manipulation for around a decade now. Now ADF, HF, etc think they've won that battle, they're switching to others - as we said they would.

❗ Liberal Democrat GAIN from Independent Group Maldon West (Maldon) council by-election result: LDEM: 41.5% (+6.8) REF: 35.3% (+35.3) CON: 14.8% (-2.6) IG: 6.0% (-28.5) GRN: 2.4% (+2.4) No Lab (-7.8) Ind (-5.6) as prev. +/- 2023 Estimated turnout: ~39% (-6) andrewteale.me.uk/previews

A glowing commendation for Durham county council’s new Reform UK leader Andrew Husband from his party’s spokesman: “Andrew is a business leader with a proven track record of growth in start-ups and building successful teams.” 🧵 1/3
