Photo by "Christianity without the Insanity". Quote by Rabbi Irwin Keller. See this prayer in context, along with one for after reading the news, at his website: www.irwinkeller.com/itzikswell/2...

My own screenshot. Not that this is particularly surprising, just a continuation of what we have seen in the past. #politics #news

Random hypothesis: what if the photic sneeze reflex (sneezing in bright light) is a mild form of synesthesia (when the brain wires two senses together)? #psychology #showerthoughts

Even though Rubio promised life-saving aid wouldn't be interrupted, it has essentially been halted worldwide, interrupting HIV and TB treatment and threatening millions of lives. People are dying today because of these chaotic, inconsistent stop work orders. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/12/u...

The Em Dash links clauses differently from other punctuation: more emphatic than parentheses, more versatile than semicolons or colons, and more subtle than an interjection. —'s are useful; they are unlikely to go away—as language itself is emphatic, versatile, and subtle, and anyone's to use.

Ways exmos and exvangelicals accidentally strengthen my faith #1 When they have really good arguments that a church tradition is a problem I then find Jesus/Isaiah/other scripture warning about that EXACT PROBLEM ...so, like, we're not perfect, but God seems to know exactly what he's working with

The part of your brain the creates and the part of your brain that edits are different. When you edit while writing, you switch your mode of thinking and can gum up the works, so to speak, knocking yourself out of your groove. Correct obvious mistakes, but knock out your pages and edit them after.

Hi. This is a lot. People are hurting. I donate, make calls, educate my kids, and try to live in compassion for all, but this is painful. Hi you. You are hurting too. Maybe for different reasons than I am. I hope you feel seen and heard. I hope you know your infinite worth. You are love.

Time to post this again

I believe that what many in the anti-abortion community do not and cannot understand is this: No matter how much value we see in the unborn, if we use the iron hand of the law to compel mothers and doctors to do with that life as we see fit— (1/2)

Jesus laying down his life out of love for the world rather than using all cosmic and political power to force the world to obey him will forever be the greatest critique of any Christian movement that seeks to secure power in order to ensure that others conform to their will.

I invite you to join me today in rereading Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Letter from Birmingham Jail. www.africa.upenn.edu/Articles_Gen... Also, someone made a feed dedicated to posts about him, so it's a good day to spend some time there: bsky.app/profile/did:...
