You only get one wedding in my lifetime that I will feel *obligation* to attend. Anything after that is a party invite that I can decline with zero apologies necessary.

TIL that after the shooting death of CEO Brian Thompson UnitedHealthcare approved many life-saving medical procedures it has been holding out on because of sudden internal panic and public scrutiny. So, Luigi (innocent until proven guilty) probably saved more lives than he took.

Who gives a shit?

Just had the worst Final Destination-style premonition that I’m going to keep living

I don’t share this very often, but you guys deserve it.

It's dumb that I pay Disney for a streaming service and I cannot watch the Pacers game on ESPN with it. Is their no consumer advantage to allowing their hideous monopoly?!

I just finished reading The Shining. People who say the boiler kills Jack are either A. Champions of not spoiling things, or B. Dismissive of The Manager's possession of Jack. Excellent book.

Inheritance taxes should be identical to lottery taxes cause inheritors just won a different kind of lottery.

I have been saying since DAY 1 that the state has presented ZERO physical evidence that Luigi Mangione is guilty of the murder of Brian Thompson.

This country is the misery machine. Social platforms simply burst your bubbles.

I am completely and totally baffled every time I have to interact with our health care system that the generations before us put up with this nonsense. I want to see the entire country in ashes every time I hear the word "copay."

Another one for @senschumer and his fellow brave letter writers

I love these silicon valley bros that think ChatGPT has achieved some kind of sentience and therefore might have rights. Like dudes, you don't even think poor people deserve rights, let's try to achieve that before giving person-hood to the autocomplete algorithm.

You sent an illiterate man a letter? Well that'll surely stop all the fascism and global economic terrorism.

I've knocked out the first 3 books in the Earthsea series and I'm so impressed with how efficiently Ursula le Guin world-builds. Starting book 2 with a different protagonist from another part of the world while hinting that I would see Sparrowhawk soon was super exciting.

me, reading this with a pinched nerve in my spine that's kept me in the same position on the floor of my apartment for the last 5 days: 👹

I am currently watching Savannah Bananas baseball, live on YouTube, because it is easier to access than Major League Baseball, which I would rather be watching.

it’s awesome that trumps entire economic policy is strapping dynamite to his own chest and threatening to detonate it

Detain him with plainclothes masked men, send him to a Louisiana jail and don’t tell his lawyers where he is or you’re not serious about stopping shit.

last night's D&D session!

last night's D&D session!

What a repulsive deflection of personal responsibility.

I've started reading Black House by Stephen King and Peter Straub. I'm bummed Jack doesn't remember the events of the Talisman. Why does King always wipe the memories of his heroes? I was expecting Jack to have spent his life keeping the Territories where they belong!

I did not love the film adaptation of Hearts in Atlantis. I can forgive writing out the stuff that ties into the Dark Tower because the average movie gover would have no context for that. However leaving out the Lord of the Flies theme guts the story.

Never mind more Indiana jones. We could have more Brendan Fraser mummy movies.

Average Democrat

Slight edit: Nazi porn bar

I have been reading Hearts in Atlantis. I can't help but picture these "low men in yellow coats" like the Witch of the Waste's henchmen from Howl's Moving Castle.

I hope China liberates us here in the US from our oppressive regime before the famine.

My atheism includes the so called Free Market.
