Sometimes #!/bin/bash is all you need to get a simple job done Download a load of Operating System ISOs into my vSphere content library...

Ramblings on home lab plans and current status. It would have helped if the original audio was not lost but it’s good for my own documentation. Maybe helpful to someone else?

I am using Heimdall as my #Homelab dashboard, are you using something different?

When using Packer to build out vSphere templates…. Or any platforms. The most frustrating part is the SSH not connecting!!!!

With all the home lab updates and focus on storage. It’s time to use a tool I have not used in a while. Kubestr, maintenance has been ongoing and some new features. My goal is to bench mark the storage I have added to my k8 cluster

Homelab update: 6/6 drives to complete the NAS upgrade it’s not the overwhelming TBs you see from some in their homelab but for me this is VM based storage only. RAID5 = 5TB useable will be plenty. Now to move everything back from the backup NAS and build some more.

What else should I add to the home lab services?

Need to take a look at infracost, what looks like a nice way to understand cost estimations of your terraform build list.

I am going to take another look into @headlamp_ui There is a helm chart option to deploy to cluster or a local install to host on your machine.

Everyone should learn the power of bash scripting before even thinking about Python, Golang or anything else…. Bash and general Linux commands are so powerful.

This K9s short demo has consistently been the highest ranking video on the #90DaysOfDevOps Who uses K9s?

Started some playing in the home lab

Backups are so boring!

I have been updating the website and some of the content for #90DaysOfDevOps more updates to come. #DevOps www.90daysofdevops.com

As the world is all in on SaaS, I was recommended a book and this was the first one of 2025

Ok, Good Morning... Here to see the chat about Deepseek is it as jaded as Twitter....

Event driven backup alongside your normal schedule. The incident API used with some of our security and network integrations. This shows how to use it in any event.

Imagine a world where this is mass produced and given to those that need it... instead of us fuelling the already billionaire lizards! Just imagine!

I just upgraded my home lab Veeam server to 12.3, A nice message telling me you can now protect Entra ID with it...

With the final episode of the ShipIT podcast, its time to flip to "Fork around and Find out"

First weights session, gym session tomorrow after being sick. This is going to be weak but gotta start back somewhere.

Thinking about a video, showing the portability and ability of Veeam being able to protect and restore your VMs between different hypervisors and cloud based IaaS offerings... Where should I restore this VM > edit and move on >

Top of my list tomorrow is working through github.com/siderolabs/t... Credentials seem to have expired on my HomeLab Talos cluster. This is step one before needing to then do some clear up on the cluster.

There are so many databases to choose from in 2025!

Do you ever look at a cluster and go... I don't remember deploying some of this stuff

First time I think in 12 years I will not be applying for #vExpert Community is about collaboration and sharing on both sides, if you just want a group of people to share blogs that have been sent via an email then that doesn't have the same advocacy vibes anymore.

Calling all my Veeam Admins to give something a try, I made some progress on the little Kollect tool, this latest update was to include the ability to inventory your Veeam Backup & Replication server using Veeam API to gather the information.

With my adventures this week in sorting the watch later playlist on YouTube, I then need a solution moving forward and found this might be helpful.

My coding skills are already challenged but when you hit 10k API request limits in Google Cloud with this when you only have 350 videos and want to create a handful of playlists.. how do you burn that much!

Has anyone done any Grafana + Blue Sky API work to show off any metrics?

Listening to the Nerd Journey podcast this morning an almost nostalgic voice was on. @commsninja.bsky.social The Geek Whisperer podcast was influential for me and my career growth back in the day. So many wise words from this pod as well from you. open.spotify.com/episode/2k1H...

A post I finished 2024 with ARM support for protecting those stateful workloads you have running on your Raspberry Pi Kubernetes cluster

If anyone else is experiencing Watch Later YouTube anxiety I created something that might help...

Learning SQL should be top of the list for anyone in Ops or Development. I have this video in my Watch Later playlist and every so often will jump into it again and again as a recap.
