I think everyone remembers “its the economy stupid” Well, today, it’s “the minerals, stupid” Canada, Ukraine, Greenland- is the rare earth and other minerals/ energy- Panama- it’s how do you get these minerals to where we need them.

If I were a Canadian MP, I'd create a list of every American politician and media personality who's joking approvingly about or otherwise encouraging the idea of the US annexing Canada and ban them from Canada forever. They won't care, but it would show how seriously we're taking this.

Today I learned Randy Bachman is a trump supporter. He also sonehow thinks the felon in chief will go after pedophiles. A made up story to deflect attention away from the actual predator ( the felon) I’m just stunned.

Keep in mind , Canada provides 1. 20% of crude oil to the USA 2. 10% of the power to New England 3. 9% of the natural gas to the USA 4. 80% of Canada’s NATO spending benefits the USA. 5. 52 MWH of electricity exported to the USA.

I was pleased to see the ovation for Mario Lemieux last night. It was one of my first sportswriting assignments when Lemieux gave me an hour of his time after the 1987 Canada Cup, sitting in the stands in Pittsburgh after practice. He still has something Wayne Gretzky does not: Class.
