I'd much rather the #Mets take addition CBT hits with investments into the starting rotation, rather than doing so with th 24th-26th roster spots. Its why I say sign José Quintana, not José Iglesias. And today, that's a reiteration of the point.

So, Carlos Mendoza said Nick Madrigal dislocated his shoulder in West Palm today. Have to wait & see how that plays out, and whether or not that simply means there’s an easier path to the roster for both Brett Baty and Luisangel Acuña. Or, if the #Mets decide to go outside (José Iglesias?)

Frankie Montas has a high-grade lat strain. He has been shutdown for 6-8 weeks from throwing. That means, you're looking at a 3 month timetable to return for Montas, assuming all goes well. Not great news for the #Mets already questionable rotation. But they do have a lot of major league depth.

Per @feinsand.bsky.social - the #Mets and Drew Smith agreed to a one-year contract, with an option for 2026. He had Tommy John/Brace surgery mid last year, so he's likely missing most if not all of 2025. But, he can continue his rehab under NYM's supervision, and its a good fit.
