Almost 20 years ago, a doctor on TV was asked, "Isn't 12 a little early for a kid to be deciding to transition?" And her response was, "It's old enough for them to decide that it's not worth living anymore if they can't." That was the only argument I ever needed to hear about gender affirming care.

I would like to speak up today for the trans community. You see, I know a bit of what it’s like to be politically scapegoated. When Japan attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941, suddenly anyone in America who had any amount of Japanese ancestry became suspect. Politicians preyed upon ignorance and fear. /1

For crying out loud. I’m in a work thing and they just said “hey, AI can outright lie, make sure you fact check”. I feel like we haven’t progressed at all since we were saying that about the web in general in 1994. Like, have some people just not been fact checking for the last 30 years?
