In preparation for our upcoming webinar focused on new state bills and EOs, we have added tabs to Institutional Framework document focused on KY and OH bills. We will provide some context of those new sheets at our upcoming session. See upcoming events at lnkd.in/ekJQYuPW

This volume is critically relevant to current events in US politics, society, and education and fits among other works on [CRT], institutional racism, white supremacy, and higher ed...[Gavin] challenges readers to reimagine what our nation, and indeed our institutions." rowman.com/ISBN/9781793...

Education4All will host a Zoom session 3/13, 4-5 EST. Agenda is to provide an overview of state bills attacking DEI, Academic Freedom, & autonomy; remind you of the tools we have at Education4All; and hear from colleagues. Registration is required and can be found here education4allhub.com/events/.

Re-upping from my article with Smerconish.com from From Feb 2023. "These are contestations for progress toward a more perfect union on the one hand or an authoritarian state on the other. Make no mistake; we choose the frames of debate now.

“[The intent of the] Dear Colleague letter &...the [EOs}...is to cause fear & to have colleges impose restrictions on themselves that are not necessary...those restrictions are targeted at Black, Brown & LGBTQ people, which is antithetical to civil rights.” themanchestermirror.com/2025/03/03/f...

Higher Education friends, we at Education for All have trained over 1500 people in higher education about ways in which to avoid anticipatory suppression and also to maintain focus on institutional autonomy, academic freedom, and DEI. education4allhub.com

OCR Q and A on its Dear Colleague letter: 1) segregation is illegal 2) curriculum should be in the hands of professionals 3) policies that are coded by negatively impact one race over another should be investigated. Here's the thing: #3 aligns with all the work being done for equity. 😶

Moreover, the newest letter from OCR illustrates that higher education has, broadly, been working within Civil Rights laws for decades, and changes are not necessary as a result of the Dear Colleague letter. Join us at education4allhub.com to learn more.

reposting from 2023: ‘The active marginalization of specific identities from education or the curriculum is hateful and should be couched in only those terms. Thank you for your leadership, President Gavin!

As we move into the next months, reposting a link to my book anticipating the dismantling of higher education and other sectors all in line with a white nationalist agenda. rowman.com/ISBN/9781793...

Education for All, a grassroots network of mostly community college leaders, is spreading strategies for how to resist anti-DEI bills and rhetoric.

Reminder that we have been in compliance with Civil Rights laws from the jump; these orders and memos will be and are being challenged. Resources to help you consider your approach and ways to consider your mission in this moment at education4allhub.com.

For presidents and higher ed leaders thinking of how to address the newest EOs and Dear Colleague letter, Education for All continues to offer tools in thinking through institutional decisions without over complying. education4allhub.com

Monday, 2/10, 1-2 EST, I will be on A Public Affair streaming on @Wortfm.org. Looking forward to discussing the work of higher education in a context questioning value, our link to social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion and where we can seek to deliver on American promises.

This illustrates the issue is not the content but the idea and implementation of a process for the political sphere to limit knowledge for its own power.

The point is anticipatory suppression. Education for All has some tools and frameworks for individuals and institutions to consider in this moment. education4allhub.com

This is a visual representation of what I call The Nostalgia Spectrum. How we view history (curriculum) is intertwined with the racialized present and future we see. And complacency is a weapon white nationalism depends on and uses to continue its work.

Higher ed folks, if you need some resources, consider using our resources and contextualizing them with a webinar for a bigger group. www.insidehighered.com/news/governm...

This is bananas.

Thank you, @carolinewlee.bsky.social--we have our last scheduled webinar tomorrow at noon. Register here education4allhub.com

100% and this is why every sector and their leaders should be actively engaged.

This is the playbook that states will replicate on higher ed--we already have seen bills drop in OH and ND threatening higher ed in those states. Education for All at education4allhub.com offers support for leaders to navigate this moment and maintain culture and your institution.

This came out 2021 and looked at higher education's need to accelerate its approach to DEI in a moment where civil rights and histories were being erased. The Nostalgia Spectrum, a tool to measure racialized lens on cultural memory and history holds even more true today. rowman.com/ISBN/9781793...

For those leaders at higher ed institutions, be sure all legal cases have been finalized prior to implementing anti-DEI, anti-educational, anti-democratic policies and actions.

Yes. Chaos, fear, and marginalization of the already-marginalized are the goals. We have concrete actions and direction. Consider joining and attending a session. education4allhub.com

Here is why finding work around is detrimental to the country and students. We need coalitions to assert higher Ed’s work: ‘The best pedagogy and scholarship cannot occur without attending to paradigmatic DEI concerns.’ www.insidehighered.com/opinion/view...

In an ideal world, faculty would continuously report feeling more academic freedom; stemming from a public sphere committed to inclusion, and exchange of worthy ideas. The attack on academics, institutional autonomy, and DEI, has led to over 1/3 reporting less than before. That is not a win.
