Well, the Silent Hill 2 remake is just as traumatizing so far as I remember the original being. Possibly more so now that the horrid mannequin-leg monsters are also ninjas. Kudos to Bloober Team. This isn't my favorite SH, but it's hitting all the nostalgia and notes of sickly, dripping awfulness.

I give most books significant leeway as long as *something* about them is really strong, but if you don't have a unique voice, or can't swing your words with some real beastly intent, it's probably not gonna stick.
