I’d just like to add, selfishly, that any additional backers we get at this point are putting money directly in the creators’ pockets. If you like comics that take chances then come check out our book. I think you’ll like it.

SHELVED BY GENRE cracks open a new tome today with William Gibson's classic NEUROMANCER! CMRN and Michael decided to mark the occasion in a special way, but just like for our buddy Case, the job went wrong--to find out how, well, you'll just have to give it a listen: rangedtouch.com/2025/01/31/n...

We are 10 backers away from 200! We’ve hit the mid-campaign lull, but every day we take a step forward. Thanks to everyone who has supported and shared so far! For those who haven’t seen our Kickstarter, take a moment to check us out!

There are only 12 hardcovers left! 10 in the standard tier, 1 in the combo tier, and 1 in the commission. Back now before you miss out! www.kickstarter.com/projects/dau...

Tomorrow, Jan. 20th, our Kickstarter for WHO KILLED SARAH SHAW goes live! Almost three years to the day since I wrote the initial pitch doc for it. It’s been a long road to get here, but I think we’ve created something special. We’d love for you all to join us. www.kickstarter.com/projects/dau...

Look, I just want to be the guy Hallmark calls to write 3 Halloween movies a year.

Thank you @remapradio.bsky.social for recommending 1000xResist for homework. It whips ass.

BREAKING: The biggest strike against Amazon in U.S. history is happening right now. The Teamsters are picketing facilities across the country. The union has organized workers at 10 Amazon locations AND they're putting up picket lines at hundreds of other Amazon sites nationwide.

Micro comic reviews - Plastic Man No More #2: still rules - …Hellblazer: Dead in America #11: I lost the plot somewhere and this kind of glazed over for me. I need to go back and figure it out - The New Gods #1: yep. This is going to be real good. - Ultimate Spider-man #12: love a family drama

The dichotomy of being straight edge but having cypress hill stuck in your head for days

A few people dropped out of the current Jimmy Olsen series over at Shelfdust. If you'd be up for writing about an issue, send me a DM? I'm giving priority to female critics on this one shelfdust.com/category/jim...

Moved from procreate to Illustrator for lettering a comic I’m working on and, while it’s a lot to learn, it’s so much cleaner of a process for me. I’m slower, for sure, but learning a lot.

Do you need a goth teen from the early 2000s consultant for your comic or movie? Look no further! I can help.

Couple of micro reviews from comics this week: PLASTIC MAN NO MORE #1 - loved it cool idea, 4/5 POISON IVY / SWAMP THING FERAL TREES #1 - I’m a sucker for this kind of thing 4/5 RICK & MORTY holiday special #1 - I trick myself into thinking I’ll like R&M comics, I never do. It’s a me thing. 2.5/5

Stressed about not writing enough these days. You know what that means? Time to replay Dark Souls.

Our prelaunch page is live, but this offer still stands! Critics, podcasters, creators! Let me give you a PDF of WHO KILLED SARAH SHAW? Please and thank you. www.kickstarter.com/projects/dau...

Pretty baffled by how much I’m not a fan of the new southern reach book, Absolution. The first three were so deeply in my wheelhouse, but I can’t get the hang of the new one personally. Same thing happened with Hummingbird Salamander and this kind of feels like a sequel to that in style.

Is there a series that follows up House of X / Powers of X? and is it good?

God, why am I such a sucker for Deadpool & Wolverine. I knew it was going ti be a fun holiday day-off watch. But dang, this hits for me. Stupid in a good way.

Me at my well paying, reliable day job where health insurance, taxes, and payroll are all just magically take care of: “man, I gotta make movies to write full time next year.”

Just in time for your holiday travels and travails, a Patreon-exclusive BONUS Bonus episode in which Michael, CMRN, and Austin revisit 1998's classic superhero horror-action flick, BLADE. www.patreon.com/posts/116832...

I feel the same way about ICE CREAM MAN (I’m new to it , so 40, 41, 42) that I felt when I played ALAN WAKE 2 earlier this year. “Uh oh, this is a real bad influence for my writing” (positive) What a fucking comic.

New issue of BERM, a contemporary arts magazine, is up for pre-order today! The theme for this issue is “interactive” and we asked contributors to reflect on how audiences interact with static art, how performers consider interactivity, and how designers consider physical/digital space.

If you’re not reading Summer Shadows by @johnharrisdunning.bsky.social & Ricardo Cabral you’re missing out. It’s wild. These pages are like 3 pages apart. Immaculate vibes. Lettering by Jim Campbell is insane. Fits perfectly. I think there’s 2 issues out @darkhorsecomics.bsky.social

Late to seeing it, but MY OLD ASS might be my favorite drama of the year? Favorite dramedy? Damn.

Couple photos from this morning’s walk around the Moreland area in Portland. Fuji X-T30

Literally me to my friend the other night. It’s going to take a bit to purge years of interacting on twitter and slink into a more chill space. The earnestness hurts my brain (but I think in a good way haha)

Hello I’m looking for a letterer for a project I am working on. Anyone interested pls reach out to me with ur rates ! Thank you :)

Just going to paste a link this free short comic that @admancomics.bsky.social and I worked on last year - no reason :) www.iseebadspirits.com/ryker

Coworker asked if he should get another coworker W0rldtr33 by Tynion for Christmas. Asked if he’s checked it out yet. He said no. I politely pointed him to The Deviant instead haha. Little too intense for a coworker Christmas gift. But I think I sold him on picking it up for himself.

Highly recommend GODZILLA: SKATE OR DIE! By @louiejoyce.bsky.social . What a good time! Every single issue had me smiling because so much cool shit was happening. Picked issue #1 up based on the cover and just loved the whole series.
